Sayonara to the Forum

Recommended Posts

Hello, all Forumers who remember me, I've decided to briefly resurface to say goodbye. My interests have drifted away from sumo, mostly due to retirement of rikishi I knew and loved, and partly due to general changes in life and interests. I'll probably still visit the Forum once in a blue moon to check on the gossip, but I probably won't post anymore.

The Forum was a great place to learn about and discuss about sumo, and I hope you keep it that way for a long time. I wish to thank all the Forumers who made it so by their fun and erudite postings, their enthusiasm and good will. I won't even attempt to list you all, for I would surely forget someone and embarrass myself. It was a pleasure to be a part of it, but all good things must come to an end.

If you wish to contact me for any reason, send me a PM (I won't be deleting this profile). If any of you old guard are passing through Zagreb, I'll buy you a drink.

Bye.

I'll always think of your avatar when I see those cats in Chinese restaurants.

Having delved into the posts of long ago on this forum, may I say that you are a legend.  Thanks for your efforts.  Good luck and good life.

Definitely a legend!

I'll remember our time together as translators on Le Monde du Sumo with great pleasure!

I remember the awesome photos you used to share of your travels, i  especially liked (and had never known about till then) the intricate designs on the manhole covers in Japan.  Best of luck, and i hope you return some day :)

Oh wow - you mean I am not the only person who went round photographing the manhole covers in Japan? They were pretty amazing. Here's one from Tsukuba that I took in 2008.

Ah fantastic, that's always been one of things i love about Japan, they really have an eye for detail.

Ha those are brilliant, i've never seen that mascot before, if it weren't for the fire-engine i'd have gone by his hair, and guessed his company made coat-racks :-)

Ok.  Here is a bunch of them.

Hmmm, looks like I missed one or two when I was there in 2008!
