Rikishi and their children

Recommended Posts

We have a wedding thread, a death thread, and okamasan thread, but we don't have a kids' thread. There are photos and news about the rikishi and their kids all over the forum so maybe someone who has the time and the inclination can gather them here.  Here goes. First one-ex-Wakanosato has a daughter-first child. 3.41 kilos at birth.

I don't want to put the family news in the marriage thread - so this one.

Shortly after the danpatsu-shiki on the 28th, ex-Tamaasuka's 3rd child and again a son was born on the 11th and presented to the public yesterday - a boy of 3310g. The eldest son is 6, the 2nd 2. Araiso-oyakata would like to have at least one of his sons to become rikishi - with the shikona Tamaasuka. He himself got that name from his late father before he entered. http://www.chunichi.co.jp/chuspo/article/sumo/news/CK2017021502000150.html

Tokitenku's daughter.

(It was posted after he passed away)

i kinda relieved when i found out that he was survived by his daughter.

PS: the post reads as something like..

how cruel is the world? As your girl I didn't know that something like this would happen. Even it's sunny outside it's dark inside me and i don't know what to say or what to do.

Love you Daddy

(And some lyrics kinda hard for me to translate, i think the meaning as follows)

You've gone through the valley with wind,my daddy

While the earth was crying, when there was snow flurry

You'll live forever in my heart

RIP my young father

I am your daughter

(sorry about bad translation i hope you get the point)

Kotoshougiku is a proud father to a 3.259 kilo son. Mother and son are fine. "I think he will be refreshed now and will gambarize from here on.." said Sadogatake Oyakata.

The headline seemed really odd: Sekiwake Kotoshogiku's first child

As the child was expected, he had talked about now having to gambarize for a growing family - didn't help
