Shibatayama-beya and their supporters gathered at Tokyo's Keio Plaza hotel to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the heya's opening.

Veteran Shoketsu was presented with a trophy commemorating his recent achievement of 1,000 consecutive career bouts.

Souvenirs of the day, including some chikara-mochi as recommended by Shibatayama-oyakata (former Yokozuna Onokuni).

Hakuho today in a hotel in Nagoya had an encouragement party by his koenkai

Ex-Takekaze on the 30th was at the party after the meeting of his local koenkai in Kita-Akita, the "Takekaze-Akira-zeki supporting club". 45 members were at the meeting, and they decided to rename to "Oshiogawa-oyakata supporting club".

At the party he now got oyakata wear - a necktie

Now jd Homarefuji on the 8th had an encouragement party by his koenkai home in Ajigasawa town - a drop from sekitori does not mean the koenkai has to disband. With his 6-1 in Nagoya he'll return to sandanme next basho: "I'll aim for a zensho yusho." http://www.toonippo.co.jp/articles/-/231349

Kotonowaka on the 21st had a party to celebrate juryo promotion in Kurayoshi, hometown of granddad Kotozakura: "The final goal is to catch up with the previous (Sadogatake)."  (sounds a bit more sophisticated than simply 'I want to get to yokozuna'). Hakuho today was at the pep rally of Miyagino-beya and reported to the Kyushu supporters that he has become a Japanese national. He told a story about his injured left upper arm: "The doctor told me it practically won't heal, but cured it with regenerative medicine. The most astonished one was the doctor: 'Aren't you an alien from space, yokozuna?'"

Mitakeumi had his pep rally yesterday, by the "Kyushu Mitakeumi koenkai". He just came from a talk show with Enho and had another talk show then.

The Ishikawa pref. Enho koenkai has doubled its members number since the start, 626 now. Members applied from 27 prefectures all over the country, especially women. Takasago-beya had an encouragement party in Tokyo on the 16th. From the supporters: "Next year ozeki, we want you to become yokozuna."

On the 20th the new Tokyo koenkai of Asanoyama had the party to celebrate its inauguration, with about 500 supporters, who want him to become the next wasei (Japan-made) yokozuna. This is very difficult to accomplish till the retirement of Takasago-oyakata as shisho same time next year, but "I want to get closer to it even a bit. First of all the one before" : next year ozeki at this event.

Sadogatake-beya on the 21st had a pep rally in Tendo city, Yamagata, the home pref. of the oyakata. About 400 supporters from the local koenkai could celebrate 2 new sekitori this year, Kotoshoho and of course Kotonowaka II.

Hoshoryu on the  18th had the party to celebrate juryo promotion, with about 130 supporters of the heya koenkai in a hotel in Tokyo.

The first personal koenkai of Yutakayama will be established in May, core members will be Niigata sports organizations related persons and OBs from his university, Tokyo Nodai. On the 6th he had a press conference about it with the mayor of Niigata city.

The city hall of Nishikifuji's hometown Towada put a congratulations banner on the 3rd floor terrace, listing also his local middle and high school. o

The city is establishing a koenkai for him, headed by the mayor.
