chabonowaka 2 Posted June 20, 2012 here are the final standings for group C in the group stages: (for the love of things you love, someone check this!) in 1st place, going 1-2-0, for 5 points, and with a goal differential of +3 (4 vs 1) Kintamayama!!!!! in 2nd place, going 1-1-1, for 3 points, and with a goal differential of +2 (4 vs 2) Asashosakari!!!!! in 3rd place, going 1-1-1, for 3 points, and with a goal differential of -2 (2 vs 4) Rubensan in 4th place, going 0-2-1, for 2 points, and with a goal differential of -3 (3 vs 6) Doitsuyama so congratulations to Kintamayama and Asashosakari for moving on, and to Rubensan and Doitsuyama, we'll see you in the competition for the bench bowl! again, please, someone check this! Asashosakari 20,298 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) I contest Andonishiki's decision, because my chain never broke. At slot #4 Netherlands © lost, but Kameumi's chain is broken at Slot #3. So, the decision has to be made according to Sitation #9, and not according Sitation #3. In this case Achiyama's win over Kameumi is 4:0, and NOT 1:0 (1 goal scored at Slot #3, 1 goal scored at Slot #5, and 2 goals scored at Slot #7). Yeah, that's a 4-0. BTW, Slot #4 would not be a chain break even if Kameumi was still in the match (Table 4). Achiyama +1 (Lost to Harinezumi 0:3 and won against Kameumi 4:0) Harinezumi 0 (Lost to Kameumu 1:4 and won against Achiyama 3:0) Kameumu -1 (Lost to Achiyama 0:4 and won against Harinezumi 4:1) Ditto that, too. Incredibly, Kameumi only needed to keep his loss to at most an 0-3 and he would have advanced... Edited June 20, 2012 by Asashosakari

As Asashosakari and Rubensan are tied on points (it should be 4pts each, I think), the first tie-breaker is the result of the match between them - which Rubensan won - so he should take 2nd position in the table. Asashosakari 20,298 Posted June 20, 2012 ok, here are your group c scores for round 3 of the group stages! (as usual, someone should check these.) game 1: Asashosakari (Croatia) vs. Rubensan (Spain) both players lose on the first slot, and win on the 2nd. then they both lose again on the 3rd slot, and we head to the 4th slot tied 0-0. there Rubensan's ® Spain and Asashosakari's © Portugal win, which givea one point to Rubensan! on the 5th slot, Rubensan's © Denmark loses, and his chain is broken! so he is done at 1 point. Asashosakari's Poland loses too, so he doesn't score. the 6th slot sees a couple of more losses, and then in the final slot, Rubensan's Greece breaks Asashosakari's chain as his ® Croatia loses. the game ends with a 1-0 victory for Rubensan Rubensan's 2nd slot (Poland) lost... I think Asashosakari is a 1:0 winner. At Slot #1: score 0:0 (both teams lose, no chains broken) At Slot #2: Asashosakari scores 1 goal Germany wins, Rubensan's team Poland loses, and Rubensan's chain breaks. Asashosakari's chain is not broken till Slot #7, but unfortunately, his team didn't score any more goals. Also the Final Standings: #1 is Asashosakari with 7 points (2 wins and 1 draw) #2 is Kintamayama with 5 points (1 win and 2 draws) #3 is Doitsuyama with 2 points (2 draws and 1 loss) #4 is Rubensan with 1 point (1 draw and 2 losses)
chabonowaka 2 Posted June 20, 2012 Crap and double crap! i apologize (again) to everyone, and thank all who noticed my mistake. pretty much everyone other than me is correct. Rubensan's chain was broken on the 2nd slot, and Asashosakari did score there. then the game continued without any more scores through the finish, giving Asashosakari the win. this does in fact change the standings, in that n Asashosakari is through as the group winner, and Kintamayama as the group 2nd place. about the only thing i did get right in my original post was who was going through, though i even had their placements wrong. so again, congratulations to Asashosakari and Kintamayama. in that order. and for what it's worth, unless Jejima wishes to fire me from gyoji'ing, i intend to continue. and hopefully do a much better job. now, off to pick my penalty-takers, so i don't get another red card. Jejima 1,498 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) Okay, unless any errors are spotted in the above tables, these are the quarter-final matches for the Cup and the Bowl. (Losers of these matches will be competing for the Bench Plate and the Bench Saucer, respectively ;-)) Please send your line-ups to your referee. Please remove any team that is already out of the competition from your squad. Please remember that you can select an additional team for your squad (free choice), and please label that team with (E). Any player forgetting to do so, will be given Greece as their extra team, in the last position on the chain. Please also remember to send me the list of your semi-final penalty takers. I have deleted quite a few messages in my message box, so hopefully there is now space for them there - otherwise email me directly. Thanks, Andonishiki. I still can't believe it. It's a real MIRACLE. I should name my team Phoenix. After the second round I was dead meat. After Russia's (my Slot #1 team) loss in the third round I thought that's it and starting preparing for the Bowl competition. I saw that the only way I can have any chance for a win (who'd think about a big win) was if France loses. And ..... it happened. Sorry Kameumi that I stole it from you, but that's competition, isn't it? And I think Yogie Berra, the famous New York Yankies' catcher, is a very wise man. His #1 quote "It ain’t over till it’s over” is really true. Good luck to everybody in the next phase. Edited June 20, 2012 by Achiyama

XiaoTan 93 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) I am not in favour. In the WorldCup, everyone ended up having almost the full team for the line-up. I actually like it that the original choice had more weight. Edited June 20, 2012 by XiaoTan

After all, in the World Cup the quarter-finals were the second knockout round and IIRC we got to add a new team both for the last 16 and the QF... I asked that earlier - but no one responded... But, despite having only 3 teams, that is okay (I think), as there are only 4 positive results.
