On that note, I copied/pasted my prediction/WAG from last year...

Here goes a shot of optimism... Y1W, 5, 3. Hell get his first yusho, a yusho-doten loss to Hakuho which will get Bart the promotion and another Jun-yusho for good measure

I would have gone for exactly the same, but to have a difference, I went for :

O1W (after Kotoshogiku)

Time to close the poll.

Just under a quarter of us think that this will be his year to get promoted to Yokozuna. The rest of think that he will end it as an Ozeki - but one of the higher ranked ones.

No one thinks that he will get 10+ wins in all of his bashos of 2012 - but most of us think he will achieve that number most of the time.

Just over a third of us think that he will get 2 Yushos/Jun-Yushos during this year.

It was the best of the times. It was the worst of times....

Baruto's record for 2012 was

Jan - 14-1 (his first ever yusho)

Mar - 10-5

May - 9-6

Jul - 9-6

Sep - 1-3-11

Nov 1-2-12

So, he will be ranked as a Sekiwake for January - no one guessed this.

He managed to get 10 or more wins on this occasions (at the start of the year.) - no one got this correct.

He managed just one yusho and/or jun-yusho, (that nice 14-1 yusho at the start of the year) - six people were correct there.

Almost impossible to declare a winner here....

Sekihiryu is closer to the correct rank than yorikied by fate....

Vikanohara has the same rank as Sekihiryu - but got the Yusho/Jun-yusho vote correct (but with the wrong result...)

Okay, Vikanohara can claim the yusho, as he actually got one of the predictions correct, Jun-yusho to Sekihiryu.
