He first met her this January through a mutual acquaintance. In May, he introduced her to his Oyakata and asked for his permission to marry her. "He's getting married so I expect him to take responsibility and aim upwards (for Yokozuna)!" said Isegahama Oyakata. "She's not pregnant. I want 5-8 children - I don't want to lose to Hakuhou-zeki (wife pregnant with their third child, scoop!!) so I'll be gambarizing," he said.
