Just did my first entry in a few years. Kuroimori was right, M9 down was a struggle.

I started noticing Terunofuji 5 or 6 basho ago and he has quickly become one of my favorites. Always awesome to watch and constantly improving. With all the hype over Jokoryu, Endo and Ichinojo, it seems that Terunofuji has flown under the radar to become one of the best prospects on the dohyo today. I am excited for the coming year and what he will do.

I also had Niji doing the weird time loop, jumpy pixalation thing. Last night was my first time trying niji (just came back to live sumo and found out the stream is gone!), so hopefully that isnt a normal thing.

Two extremely close calls this Basho so far that I don't know if I agree with. Shohozan and Harumafuji, watching the High Def broadcast, I would argue that should be Haru's win, or a redo at the least, was suuuuper close. Then again with Osh and Myogiryu, in the slow mo replays on one and and one angle only, Osh's hand touches before Giryu's face. Another redo I'd think, unless Giryu's topknot brushed just before Osh's hand hit. Awesome Basho so far. And Kinta, even though I have access to the NHK broadcast, I still watch your vids every day. They are essential. Thank you!

Q-Shoe GTB is a step away, and in 28 days to boot..

..... I must do more keiko.... apparently my year or so break after only one basho has not had a positive effect. -

That's an insane picture. Must have more please! -
Interesting that you flip out when Hakuho displays some harder sumo, yet you brag about how Akebono would've hospitalized him. I don't think it's your unpopular opinions that upset people, we've had people here posting unpopular opinions for years now. The difference is that they mostly did so in a manner befitting serious debate. Your tone, whether you realize it or not, is that of a troll. You can have all of the unpopular opinions that you like, but flaming and childish name misspellings will get you no respect and no one will take you seriously. Some maturity and respect will take you a long ways and I sincerely hope you become a quality addition to our members.

Lots of overreacting in this thread. I don't get it.

In my experience, I've seen many rikishi attempt to help a downed opponent just to get shooed back to their corner by the shimpan. I didn't see any lack of concern on Hakuho's part. He was just playing it by the book. It's one of the reasons he's such a model Yokozuna, especially after the Asashoryu mess. He may not have even noticed how out Myogiryu was, as he does often help his opponents back to the dohyo or on their feet. I maintain that Hakuho is one of the nice guys of the sport. It's why I am a fan of him (And Bart, actually. Those henkas were to try and teach Kise a lesson).

Bart's knee must be killing him. Chances of him dropping out of the tourney? On his rematch it looked like he couldn't generate any power.

I'm not really sure how to react. Any hints?

On the Gunbai, as far as I know, they are normally sayings relating to how accurate his calls are. Things about seeing true and the like. I learned this from Doreen's awesome commentary in 2010 (Sign of approval...)

He was clearly breathing, but motionless otherwise. It didn't look very good. Hopefully just a bump on the head.

This one.

Ya know, if I was somehow an ozeki and not in the yusho race I'd feel pretty awful if I was the guy responsible for knocking Kaio out of his career right before his homecoming. Luckily I'm not an ozeki because that's still not really an excuse, but you can't help but be a little sympathetic in this situation.
