Jakusotsu 6,050 Posted November 27, 2006 Sorry for this but can anyone explain why on picture heavy threads (and especially the Tamanoi blog) clicking the orange box for first unread post actually starts you off about 7 or 8 posts back from the first unread one? It's a minor thing but...... That's because Your inital position is set before the pictures load. As more and more pictures appear, the page inevitably grows and "moves" downward. Can't be helped. Doitsuyama 1,192 Posted November 27, 2006 (edited) Sorry for this but can anyone explain why on picture heavy threads (and especially the Tamanoi blog) clicking the orange box for first unread post actually starts you off about 7 or 8 posts back from the first unread one? It's a minor thing but...... That's because Your inital position is set before the pictures load. As more and more pictures appear, the page inevitably grows and "moves" downward. Can't be helped. Actually, it can be helped. The img tags can contain the picture dimensions, then the browser knows before loading the picture how big it will be and can react accordingly. The forum script could work that in by loading the picture (only once at time of submitting the article of course), reading the dimensions and adding them to the image tag. Probably not considered worthwhile enough from forum script programmers, but actually it's annoying me too. Edited November 27, 2006 by Doitsuyama
