FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Fantasy Game

Whoever determined the price for players.... this person is completely clueless. Offering world class player Kimmich for 6.2 while bench warmer Gnabry costs you 8.0 millions is unbelievable. And Vitinha for 6.1 millions is a special offer. And so on and on... Ridiculous.

Don't think as a 'connaisseur" (expert) and the quality of the players. Think in terms of game.. Kimmich scored 3 goals and made 7 assists. Gnabry scored 7 goals and had 5 assists so he potentialy can bring you more points in the game that is why he is more expensive. Also Kimmich had 4 yellow cards (so minus points) Gnabry had none. Another point in favor of Gnabry.

Again this is just how they are thinking, I suppose.

You may be right, but then again Kimmich played 32/34 matches from the start while Gnabry had 27/34 and came from the bench 8x after 60 minutes only... Much more time for Kimmich to collect yellow cards ;-) This approach also means a player like Vitinha is not world class but rubbish average.

If this is the way to determine the prices I know there is one more good reason not to play this game regularly.

It's just mathematics my friend, do you really think there is a human behind those odds? If you believe they are flawed just take advantage from it.  ;-)

No, no. This is so weird it can be only created by AI (Laughing...)

Just checked the picks from our League mates. @Asapedroryu and @Jejima both picked Kim from FC Bayern who stayed at home in Munich to recover from injury. Zero points from Kim. Now let's see whether a Hurricane will destroy Auckland.

Yeah, they put the full squads in the game and didn't bother to remove the ones that stayed home.

This Bayern match is going to make big damage. Wrong players scoring and assisting. And almost had the other defender scoring zero points if he had been substituted 1 minute early.

And let's see if they don't let the amateurs score in the last minute to top it up.

Two completely expected results so far. A draw between Al Ahly and Inter Miami and an exhibition (a training session more than a real game) from Bayern vs amateur players.

Let's see the next one in half an hour.

@Ganzohnesushi if PSG and Bayern finish first of their respective groups, which is likely to happen, they can only meet in final. ;-)

Bayern vs. Auckland was really boring. I know Auckland players are glad to meet the bigwigs, but it is just too lopsided to be an interesting match. PSG vs. Atletico now. Expecting ugly defending by Atleti as always from Simeone's team.

Thus I prefer to watch Germany vs. Czechia in U-21 Euro.

Well, that's unfair. Surely players that are not going to play should have been removed from the possible selections? I didn't know that I had to check an injury list!

You can choose another captain who hasn"t played yet.

And I just checked your captain actually is Weigandt.  ;-)

Anyway you can still pick a new captain.

As usual, I'll post a report after each round for the curious to follow the standings.

I'll also post standings for :

- Attack
- Defense
- Assists
- Captain performance (fun one, to see who makes better use of their captain).

Sorry, I had seen this thread in time, but I cannot get any interest in this cup. I am still having difficulties in admitting that one of the worst clubs that ever existed had just won the Champions League....

I've half-watched a few games now (whilst doing other stuff), but I am finding it hard to feel fully invested.....  I am looking forward to the Woman's Euros in preference to this.... am I alone?

No, you're not. This current club event may become interesting once the group stage is over but I am not convinced yet.

World Cup and the Euros have much more fascination and with the development of woman's football over the last three decades I'm also looking forward to the Woman's Euros.

I have watched all the games so far and I'll miss only a few this weekend, some know why.
Some were good some were just average. I'm waiting to see Round 2 where the issues will be even higher.

Of course there are some big gaps between clubs in the tournament, probably bigger than what we could see in a Nations World Cup.

My main motivation is to see some South American clubs be competitive in the knockout games otherwise this will just turn into a "Champions League" competition.
There are indeed 2-3 clubs that can be competitive but I cannot name them here as we have a fantasy game going on ! ;-)

Unlike you I am more motivated to see this competition than the Women's Euro. As I already wrote several times, I have difficulty following the girls.  It's ok, but it's just ok for me.

Ok, I want to complain a bit too...

Dazn offers the matches for free, but then they only allow me to watch it in Spanish with some guy screaming (ok, they are not as bad as public channels), so I can't watch a full match. So thanks dazn for the broken gift. I'm sure you will have me as client very soon...

And then we have an idiot as a coach that selects the team by picking random names from a bag and draws against some semi retired South Americans that think they are in an MMA competition helped by a referee that forgot the cards at home.

@Asapedroryu I don't know, it seemed to me that Benfica had a "regular" team in its bigger part. Surely The coaxh knows things we don't  about his roster condition (who is tired and needs rest and so on....)

The referee didn't forget competely the cards but he used them late enough  in the game.

That said, I'm not sure Boca Juniors will find 11 players able to play in the third round if they keep playing like this (hard).

I'm waiting for the Ulsan - Mamelodi to start (delayed because of storm threat). I'm definitely a freak !
