Hey, all. Long time no see. I can’t quite say why but I lost my passion for sumo around the time NHK and NSK began cracking down on the YT digest channels. That wasn’t the reason I lost it—I guess it had been slowly on the wane for a while—but it was a natural break and I never got the bug back. I keep forgetting basho are even on, though I have at least checked the banzukes and final results even if I haven’t watched a single bout for months. I’ve missed a lot of changes! People gone, rookies on the rise. Yet I just can’t muster the enthusiasm I once had to watch the daily recaps. Are they even still available? It’s becoming harder to follow this sport.

I took the last couple basho kinda off also, but Kinta's vids are invaluable in getting back into the sport in the current trigger-happy environment.

hisashiburi naa. i also watch sumo less due to work and now i watch more shogi (sorry)

same as you do, just checking the banzuke and day results

 

Mbovo (now called So Desu Ne) has moved to new streaming platform after many crackdown. But as i see on that streaming website, that website is still on and maybe still good for some time to come.

When i watch sumo, i just switch from shogi channel to sumo channel using Abema (using VPN to Japan). [PS: i had a little clash with mbovo when i said i watch sumo on Abema rather than his stream]

Good to hear from you! Your posts have been missed! On the other hand, if the passion to watch sumo has waned, it's understandable that same goes with posting here. But it's nice of you to remember this place. One can't simply forget sumo, only take a little break Happened to me as well at some point years ago.
