Thanks McBugger for your kind words! Somehow I missed to respond earlier. Thank you for your continuous support of TUG and finding time to play the game despite of you being very busy recently. Achiyama 1,272 Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) The suspense in TUG is over! As I have to go to bed for about 2 hours, heading in 2 hours to the airport, I want to announce the Yusho and Jun Yusho winnners in TUG. As the Top 2 (two) Gamers are not involved in tie break I can announce the Winners for TUG for 2017 Haru Basho: TUG Yusho Winner is OSHIROKITA with 141 points This is his 2nd Yusho, after 2016 Kyushu Basho. Congratulations! TUG Jun-Yusho Winner is SHOKIKOGI with 120 points This is his 1st Jun Yusho. He won the Yusho during 2015 Natsu Basho Congratulations! Another good news: most definitely Shokikogi will be promoted to Ozeki next basho! Congratulations! I'll post the complete Final Standings when time allows during the next few days! I want to thank all TUG supporters who participated during 2017 Haru Basho! Hope to see you all back in May! Shokikogi 33 Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) Congrats to OSHIROKITA! Great basho from you, the last days were really thrilling and you made it through the long and big leadership of Gansekiiwa and the pressure from behind you. That was not an easy task! And WOW! Great! Thanks! It´s such a pleasure and honour to becoming an ozeki in TUG. My favorite game since the first basho and with the tough competition its extraordinary to get consecutive strong results over multiple basho. A special thanks to you, rijicho Achiyama. You´re the master of the favorite game of mine, you had yourself a tough time with being busy and the forum problems, but made the right decisions for a fair game. I thank you for managing this and wish you a good flight! Edited March 26, 2017 by Shokikogi

Oshirokita 199 Posted March 26, 2017 Wow, I like this game. Thanks very much to Achiyama for putting so much work into running this game and being very hands-on with updates and problem solving. I think one of the tricks to doing well is to spend a few days making crazy picks worth tons of points even when you don't think an upset is likely. A big score or two is worth way more than a few low scoring results (especially when even "obvious" winners lose from time to time).
Achiyama 1,272 Posted March 26, 2017 1 hour ago, Rocks said: Yes, congrats to OSHIROKITA and SHOKIKOGI!!! Waiting for my connection in Atlanta: I'd like to congratulate you personally, Gansekiiwa, for your perseverance and outstanding playing TUG during 2017 Haru Basho. You joined TUG last basho and you were noticed even at your debut - finishing 10-5. This Basho you were a sole Leader for 9 days, and you are a proof that TUG is very unpredictable, suspensful and exiting game till the very last day. At the very beginning, when I launched the game, something similar happened to Oshirokita. His Yusho win was "stolen" from him on Senshuraku. Although I am sure there would have been some disappointment, I hope you'll come back next basho and you'll gambarize! To all the rest TUG supporters! Don't forget that after each basho, there is the next one! I hope that your passion for this game continues and you'll be eager to play next basho, and next basho, and many basho in the future. Have a nice break from Sumo and I hope to see you all energized, coming back to play TUG during 2017 Natsu Basho! I hope you'll bring some new Gamers with you! The recruiting process starts tomorrow! I'll be on a business trip in Columbus, MS for the whole next week and I don't know whether I'll have time to work on the Sansho winners. So, be patient, please! All the best and have a nice break! Shokikogi 33 Posted March 27, 2017 @oshirokita So you were not convinced of your last day-pick Kyokushuho? That was such a brilliant pick, I never thought Kyoku could win this bout. It´s really bold to make such a pick, when you are in the leading position and the chance for the yusho, but it paid off and you won clear with the biggest pointer of senshuuraku. It´s also a great achievement you won your second yusho in 3 basho! I don´t know, if anyone else has won more than 1 TUG-yusho. Thanks for the insights of your winning strategies ^^

RaeucherLax 293 Posted March 28, 2017 THX once again for running TUG, hope to see everyone again next basho and maybe even a few more. I love the suspense when submitting the picks ... should I pick a high risk bout with the chance of a lot of points or a more sensible pick to (hopefully) gain some safe points.... Somehow I always settle for the risky ones which doesn´t help me much, but who cares as long as it´s been a fun basho.

Achiyama 1,272 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) I am back from my business trip to Columbus, MS, finishing a successful mill (plant) trial. Thank you TUG supporters for your understanding and patience. And now comes the Kekka format, which will be used for 2017 Natsu Banzuke. Shokikogi will be TUG new Ozeki. Congratulations! Here are the Kekka points (calculated by using the simple equation "Points*7.5 / Mean". This time the equation worked pretty well getting a quite balanced KK/MK. Oshirokita grabbed a 2nd Yusho in the last 3 (three) Basho as well as 3 (three) of the 7 Sansho! Congratulations! Kaizen-sho was not awarded as Nobody from the eligible Gamers got an improvement from the last basho. Of course a big reason for that was the fact that this Basho TUG was crippled as 3 (three) days have been annulled because of problems with Sumoforum. Suwihuto, Jejima, Shokikogi and Flohru got 1 (one) award each. Congratulations! Thanks to all participants for your support of TUG. We fell 7 (seven) Gamers short from the Goal (45+ participants) which I had set for 2017 Haru. Hope to see you all in March at 2017 Natsu Basho! I leave the same GOAL for 2017 Haru Basho - 45+ Participants !!! Let's start recruitment today! Thanks! Best Regards, Achiyama, TUG Rijicho

That's why there will be next basho, and next basho, and next basho. I fell in Bench Sumo from Maegasira, being in Makunuchi for a while, to Juryo. I was angry at myself first picking Hakuho and Goeido, but while time passed I feel more energized, and Ganbarimasu next basho.
