Akinomaki 41,731 Posted February 17, 2014 Ichinojo and Ishiura declared they will aim for juryo at the Haru basho, with the other former members Daikiho, Terunofuji and Takanoiwa at the victory celebration of the Tottori Johoku High sumo club. http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASG2H5HS9G2HPUUB00C.html
Johnofuji 232 Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks Akinomaki . Ishiura told me a few months ago that he was happy to take it slow and steady but I suppose when he has Hakuho to show him some extra smooth moves he can't help but to continue to rocket up the banzuke ---until he meets the larger more experienced opponents in Juryo. That right hand looks like it might slow him down but I am looking forward to some more dynamic performances. He has a great technical repertoire so I'm sure he can manage without that hand.

Kintamayama 47,174 Posted February 27, 2014 Endou entertained new recruit Kawabata (starting Haru at Makushita tsukedashi 15) among others two days ago at home and was 20-1, but lost to his young counterpart, who followed him through high School and college. "He's strong.. We trained together in High School and at college so I really missed him.." commented Endou later. Regarding his condition at theis early stage of preparations- "Some good, some bad.." Kintamayama 47,174 Posted February 27, 2014 Endou went to train with Kakuryuu again today. He lost all his 20-ish matches. " I did as much as I wanted to. I was told by the Ozeki that my tachiai was much better today and that the rest will follow with practice. I'd like to use that as an incentive and gambarize!!" said a smiling Endou. He was covered in sand and was swearing a lot, but that's OK.
Kintamayama 47,174 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Injured Myougiryuu had 19 bouts against Makushita and under opponents and won them all. He will soon start training with Sekitori as well. He is ranked the lowest he was (Maegashira 10) since entering Makuuchi. "These accidents happen. It was a good learning experience.." he said. Sekiwake Goueidou is ranked as sekiwake for the 12th consecutive time, and that is the second best ever. He trained yesterday against the visiting Kasugano beya lads including Tochiouzan and was 22-9. "I was thinking only of moving forward," he said. As for his expected first meeting against Endou- "I can beat him.." Edited February 27, 2014 by Kintamayama

With the mayor: http://www.asahi.com/articles/ASG2V5H2BG2VTLTB00F.html I found it useful to register for free at Asahi- and Mainichi-shimbun to read without charge all the rest of sumo articles they have hidden behind a login procedure. Asahi lets one read 3 articles a day for free, that is more than enough for the whole sumo content. Mainichi gives a week of full access also to the database of articles up to one year ago, but even after that the articles in the categories “shimen” and “area” can be read – and the pictures are all free to access.

Not really, since Goueidou could be 22-9 and Tochiouzan could be 22-10 at the same time, since they did not exclusively face each other, if you read closely.
