Akinomaki 41,718 Posted August 29, 2012 Takamisakari is getting closer to intai. "The young guys turn up and I can't hide the deterioration. So I can only show what I have in me now." He's the oldest in juryo with 36 and got lucky to drop only two spots with 10-5 at wj6. After the rikshi-kai

Fay 1,677 Posted August 29, 2012 Does someone have some news about Kyokushuho who drop out the basho in july and will fight in makushita next basho. Love this guy and i don't know what kind of injury he has... Same for Kimikaze, don't know what sort of injury he deals with. I got an email from Kyokushuho last week where he said he is fine, whatever that does mean ... As far as I remember he had or has an elbow injury. No idea if he is already able to fight at Aki. kedevash 44 Posted August 29, 2012 Thank you fay, he has a lot of promess and i hope this injury will not handicap him in the future, because he is not that big and his physics has to be 100% to compete against much larger rikishi.
Akinomaki 41,718 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Shohozan at his personal highest position of top maegashira, fighting all high rankers. "Losing all is OK. At the tachi-ai after 2,3 thrusts I want to create a highlight. I think there is absolutely a meaning to it." Even being exhausted after keiko: "Hearing I can fight the yokozuna lets me do keiko one more time." Edited September 4, 2012 by Akinomaki
Igordemorais 79 Posted September 4, 2012 That's the attitude man! Shohozan doesn't strike me as the most talented but always seemed like a tough nut to crack in my opinion.
Kintamayama 47,156 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) Goueidou is back in training today after his injury. He had 13 bouts against Houchiyama. "I got a long way to go. I was out of breath fast, " he said. During his one month of healing he did a lot of muscle training. "I got all the medical treatment I could," he added. "Think of it as a prolonged summer holiday. Don't rush things," said Sakaigawa Oyakata. "I'll try not to think about it too much and do my best," summed Goueidou. Akinomaki 41,718 Posted September 5, 2012 Daikiho at degeiko in Tokitsukaze-beya, in tears after a round of harite and ketaguri by Tokitenku and getting a "kawaigari" treatment during butsukari-geiko. After keiko he said "I thought 'Why does I get slapped like that', but I didn't cry". But Miyagino-oyakata said "I think the feeling of frustration comes out, but he immediately starts crying. I understand the frustration, but one mustn't cry." He could borrow the chest of ozeki Kakuryu for the first time: "Doing a keiko without regret to grasp the chance", promising with the juryo jusho to turn this tears into tears of joy. Kintamayama 47,156 Posted September 5, 2012 Yamaguchi (Daikihou) looks like they took every single rikishi's face ever and entered them in some morphing software and he came out. He looks like EVERYONE. At the same time.

Akinomaki 41,718 Posted September 5, 2012 Myogiryu did keiko at Sakaigawa-beya with Toyohibiki and others, during moushi-ai winning 15 in a row, 21-1 in all. To topple the top rankers he polishes up his tachi-ai: "Also for the top the drive going forward is important. Because we're all humans when stepping onto the dohyo." Akinomaki 41,718 Posted September 7, 2012 Takamisakari was half crying when he was ordered by Azumazeki-oyakata to stop moushi-ai bouts with sekitori because he was too weak and told only to do shiko stamping, at degeiko in Tomozuna-beya on the 6th. Against makushita and sandanme opponents he was 5-5, losing 3 in a row against sandanme, 5-8 overall, losing the 3 bouts against 3 sekitori.
Asashosakari 20,207 Posted September 7, 2012 Takamisakari sucking in keiko? Sounds like he's back to full strength then.
