shumitto 418 Posted July 22, 2011 I wrote it before, but here it goes again : I believe Okinoumi might become the next Yokozuna.Isn't there a poll on that matter somewhere on this forum ? (Applauding...) We can start a thread on Okinoumi's Ozeki or Yokozuna run in the same in vein of Hakuho/Asashoryu 100th Makuuchi Yusho or Ichinoya/Kasachikara career watch. Sokkenaiyama 81 Posted July 22, 2011 So given yesterday's results, do people still think Hakuho threw his match? If so, why? I'm not saying your jab deserves an answer, but how and WHY do you think the results of Hakuho-Kotoshogiku and Kotoshogiku-Okinoumi should correlate?

Kofuji 0 Posted July 23, 2011 Looks like Wakanosato's 8 was more important that Geek's Ozeki run ... Someone forgot to give Wakanosato the story line ...

Jejima 1,427 Posted July 23, 2011 Looks like Wakanosato's 8 was more important that Geek's Ozeki run ... Someone forgot to give Wakanosato the story line ... If I recall correctly, Wakanosato (like Akinoshima and Dejima of yore) is known for being 'gachinko' - even before the recent troubles - so he would have refused to read the script (Sign of approval...) Harry 67 Posted July 23, 2011 No storyline or not the storyline we thought it was I guess! Instead of an ozeki candidate we have a tsuna-dori...
Ruziklao 34 Posted July 23, 2011 No storyline or not the storyline we thought it was I guess! Instead of an ozeki candidate we have a tsuna-dori... Actually, both can make it at Aki basho, especially if Kotoshogiku manages to win tomorrow. (Sign of approval...)

If Kakuryu wins tomorrow (against Aran), he must (surely) be the prime ozeki candidate? Sounds like we'll have one either way then! So, ozeki and tsuna-dori for Akibasho. Must find some way to get myself to Tokyo in September...
shumitto 418 Posted July 23, 2011 Feel free. He didn't do bad against Kisenosato today. So why not ?If he manages to make just a bit more progress... No doubt he is good, but if we were to start new thread to everyone who at least once looked like a possible Ozeki candidate there would be a dozen opened threads without much purpose (Tochiozan, Homasho, Kisenosato, Aminishiki, Wakanosato, Kakuryu, Aran, Sugishita and so on...)
