Yes, it's that time of day again and we at the glitzy GTB offices with its aura of magestic presence are eagerly awaiting your entries to what is shaping up to be a very unique and exciting bauble of a game this time, all in one sentence, no less. We also like to remind you that after 10 years of not bathing, we have moved all things GTB to Doitsuyama's awesome database where sanitary facilities are more readily available than in the desert we inhabit. Although this is archeological news, I still haven't found the soap of my liking. We also promise that all construction work was done by Yubiganai Co. Ltd., a very prestigious firm. This means of course everything is quite fully automated. No more sending couriers in the middle of the night to the neighboring village's telegraph machine thingy . An archive where you can see your whole gaming history and watch a channel called "NHK" which used to exist many years ago (mainly showing animals fornicating and flowers growing) has been erected. We thank Doitsuyama forever. Andoreasu is as always the chief gyoji of choice, and for that we are eternally (insert adjective of choice here ). We don't really care any more that participation has gone down lately, as we know that this basho with all that it holds will break every record hitherto known to man and salamander. This time, we are offering a prize- A flat-brained TV set that has 45 channels, all of them NHK!! Now, if that doesn't get you all worked up then I don't know what will. Don't tell your friends and enemies about us - sometimes illegal fun, under the sun boys, is more enticing. Participation will be free for all players that can tell me the results in advance of all games in next week's Japanese baseball league. So put your sunglasses on and looky here: A Sumo maniac's work is never done . This is an invitation to all gamers and non-gamers and their friends under house arrest to (insert verb of choice here) the world famous between bashos "Guess the Banzuke" (GTB) game. This is not an easy game to play (as opposed to love, which was such an easy game to play), and may take a few minutes to master. Yet, it is fulfilling and satisfying with or without surgery, a close second to playing cards and Ugly Betting on golf. If you've never played before, don't say that, since no one will believe you anyway. The exciting shifty entry form should be online somewhere as you read! Rules in 14 languages!! (Disregard the deadlines there-I'm too lazy to update 14 pages when no one is actually visiting them, as I found out about 6 years too late. The only one actually up to date is the English one..) English, German, French, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, Swedish, Hungarian , Polish, Estonian, Japanese, Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish and Dutch!!. Still, I'd like to thank Zenjimoto, Hoshifransu, Hoshifransu, Kaikitsune, Leonishiki, Heiyu, Bandey, Kojamuri, Senpai, Amanogawa, Koukai, Rabbi Akiva and Faustonowaka (in order of above languages..) for their translations, time and goodwill. Tiebreaker - Most total guesses, then, the earlier entry, then, the person who has the largest (insert noun of your choice). Reminder of rule addition- it's up to you to check if you are on the list of entries. We've been having quite a few complaints lately of entries getting sold to slavery so from now on, it's going to be your fault, not the Internet's- it takes exactly one second to check. Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted July 25, 2010 The entry form has a new feature... you may now enter a different number from 42 rikishi, but only after you confirm the entry a second time (or confirm it once, but send it a second time or whatever, the descriptions should be straight). I flipped two pairs of rikishi in the very last revision before sending in my guess (Kimurayama/Masatsukasa and Yoshikaze/Kotokasuga), and cost myself 6 points with that. D'oh.
