Yokotanoharry 1 Posted November 17, 2007 Just wondering.
Yokotanoharry 1 Posted November 19, 2007 I'm not getting ANY SC scores. Can't imagine I'm only one. Did I miss a post someplace?
XiaoTan 93 Posted November 19, 2007 I remember in a different post Gusoyama was saying that he is stretched a bit this time and will not be able to update the results frequently. So I guess we just have to be patient.
Gusoyama 104 Posted November 19, 2007 yes. Time has been short in the extreme this basho. I am hoping to update them today, at least the earlier days. I apologize.
Gusoyama 104 Posted November 19, 2007 results are in!(and accurate, I think) Looks like those who picked Dejima, Kisenosato, and Tokitenku high in their list are doing pretty well so far, with all the ginboshi going around. And if Dejima keeps it up, who knows, maybe he gets a special prize, though I'm not sure because of his previous status as an Ozeki. Right now, the high score belongs to Jesinofuji, with the following potent lineup: Selection 1(10x pts) = Hakuho Selection 2(9x pts) = Chiyotaikai Selection 3(8x pts) = Kisenosato Selection 4(7x pts) = Tokitenku Selection 5(6x pts) = Baruto Selection 6(5x pts) = Hokutoriki Selection 7(4x pts) = Wakanoho
Washuyama 662 Posted November 19, 2007 I probably would be doing a little better if I'd read the rules a little closer... Seems 10 rikishi are NOT required... :-)
Gusoyama 104 Posted November 19, 2007 At least you're doing better than me, and I've been playing this game longer than anyone. :-)
Fatakiyama 0 Posted November 20, 2007 Hi I think there is a mistake in the Salarycap results for day 10 : the points for Hakuho's KK were obviously not counted thanks
Gusoyama 104 Posted November 21, 2007 No KK results were counted, yesterday. I fixed that for today, and put up day 11 scores.
Gernobono 467 Posted November 21, 2007 No KK results were counted, yesterday. I fixed that for today, and put up day 11 scores. results for salary cap usually are more erratic than most of the other games....for me it is too much to check all the results for 10 days in one try......i hope we will have daily postings of the results next basho.... Gusoyama 104 Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) I don't use an auto-grabber, so that's why results are more erratic for SCS than other games. I could probably hook one up, and that would make everyone's life easier, but I still don't have the knack of how to do that yet. At the end of every basho, I check the results on the site with the results on the customized sumo results page and goo sumo to make sure they match. if anyone wants to write me a PHP results grabber, feel free. Make sure it includes ginboshi, kinboshi, kk, special prizes, and yusho/jun-yusho bonuses. edited to add: I hope we have daily updates next basho as well. that would mean my time had freed up some. Gernobono 467 Posted November 21, 2007 edited to add: I hope we have daily updates next basho as well. that would mean my time had freed up some. your efforts are really appriciated....it's very nice of you to run the game even with a full schedule..... maybe you should ask for help from other members of this forum to at least calculate and post daily results here in the forum based on the guesses saved in your database/excelfile/whatever..... Jakusotsu 6,389 Posted November 22, 2007 I can't really see what the fuzz about daily results for a pre-basho game is all about, but that's only me of course.
Gernobono 467 Posted November 22, 2007 I can't really see what the fuzz about daily results for a pre-basho game is all about, but that's only me of course. you gave us your view about this quite some times before and i guess it really is only you...... i agree with you in some parts, but as pointed out before......salary cup is calsulated by hand and not the usual resultsgrabber and therefore it is easier to check the correctness if you have only one day to compare than 10.... Asashosakari 20,224 Posted November 22, 2007 I can't really see what the fuzz about daily results for a pre-basho game is all about, but that's only me of course. you gave us your view about this quite some times before and i guess it really is only you...... Then I'm #2. Daily results are nice, but hardly essential for a pre-basho game. i agree with you in some parts, but as pointed out before......salary cup is calsulated by hand and not the usual resultsgrabber and therefore it is easier to check the correctness if you have only one day to compare than 10.... Why did you compare all 10 days, instead of just the total? If that hadn't matched your own numbers, you could still check the individual results afterwards. Ganzohnesushi 546 Posted November 22, 2007 Daily game or pre-basho game... where is the difference in getting a daily intermediate result? I don't see any diffence at all. For me it is always nice to see the daily standings. Somehow it is more exciting to know that you are close to the KK/MK-line or still in the Yusho race after day 10, 11 or 12 than simply getting the final result on Senshuraku. Hence I appreciate the work of all the guys providing us with daily results/standings. Ganzohnesushi
Kotononami 86 Posted November 28, 2007 Is it possible to have the win/loss records for your game? Sorry for asking if you are buzy these days. :-P
Gusoyama 104 Posted November 29, 2007 (edited) coming soon! I had finished the win/loss record, then it all got lost when my USB drive went bad. Been disheartened to start over. Will do so tonight. Edited November 29, 2007 by Gusoyama
Gusoyama 104 Posted December 1, 2007 Results are in! Win/Losses were very difficult to calculate this basho, as I had to subtract 150 instead of 250 to get any kind of meaningful results. However, even adjusted, 2 out of the 3 divisions had at least one 15-0 records! The Mighty Makuuchians were lead by Frinkanohana, who had a basho-high 2798 points, only 65 points lower than the maximum 2863. Jesinofuji followed and also got a 15-0, only 56 points behind Frinkanohana. In Juryo, sumo superpower Susanoo beat out Yokotanoharry and captured the yusho with 2685 points. The drama, however, was in Makushita, where Meyeryu and Sashohikufuhen battled it out to the final day, finishing with the same total of 2729, even though they had differently positioned lineups. Since they had the same lineup, the first two tiebreaker rules are passed, which leads us to the third tiebreaker rule, which states that the player with the highest total scoring rikishi wins. Both players have Hakuho on the 10 spot, so we go to the 9 spot. There we find Baruto and Chiyotaikai for Meyeryu and Sashohikufuhen respectively. Baruto scored 77 points to Chiyotaikai's 62, so that means Meyeryu gets the playoff extra point, and the yusho! The wins/losses can be found in the usual place. Best team possible: Points: 2863 Selection 1(10x pts) = Hakuho Selection 2(9x pts) = Baruto Selection 3(8x pts) = Chiyotaikai Selection 4(7x pts) = Tokitenku Selection 5(6x pts) = Kisenosato Selection 6(5x pts) = Roho Selection 7(4x pts) = Wakakirin Here's the breakdown per division: Makuuchi (Sigh...) Frinkanohana 2798 points Lineup: Selection 1(10x pts) = Hakuho Selection 2(9x pts) = Ama Selection 3(8x pts) = Chiyotaikai Selection 4(7x pts) = Baruto Selection 5(6x pts) = Kotoshogiku Selection 6(5x pts) = Wakanoho Selection 7(4x pts) = Wakakirin Juryo ;-) Susanoo 2685 points Lineup: Selection 1(10x pts) = Hakuho Selection 2(9x pts) = Baruto Selection 3(8x pts) = Kisenosato Selection 4(7x pts) = Tokitenku Selection 5(6x pts) = Kokkai Selection 6(5x pts) = Roho Selection 7(4x pts) = Hokutoriki Selection 8(3x pts) = Wakakirin Makushita (Yusho winner...) Meyeryu 2729(+1) Lineup: Selection 1(10x pts) = Hakuho Selection 2(9x pts) = Baruto Selection 3(8x pts) = Roho Selection 4(7x pts) = Chiyotaikai Selection 5(6x pts) = Ama Selection 6(5x pts) = Kokkai Selection 7(4x pts) = Wakanoho
Kotononami 86 Posted December 1, 2007 2253 points in makuuchi = 5-10 2253 points in makushita would have done a 9-6. Great difference in level of results between divisions on this tournament. Thanks for the results Gusoyama-san.
