Kintamayama 47,175 Posted March 18, 2004 That fantastic Sumo E-zine in French, "Le Monde du Sumo", has received a big write-up on Kyodo news, with a picture of the magazine cover as well. It tells of the magazine, and how even the French President chirac, who is a known Sumo fan, got his copy as well. They even interviewed the editor, who said that after seeing there was not much out there about Sumo in French, they decided to do it by themselves. In any case, a well deserved acknowledgement to a fantastic magazine. The link: http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20040318...0018-kyodo-soci

furanohana 3 Posted March 19, 2004 OK, since there are som many discussions about the MDS (Monde Du Sumo) and possible translations, here are the latest news from the MDS team : We are more and more thinking of trying to make an English translation of the magazine. We ahve a lot of things to work out for that, but it's becoming a possibility. The most important part is first to make a "MDS-translation" team, composed of both people capable of doing the translations. I'll let you know when this project reaches its conclusion. Any people wanting to join the project are welcome : just contact me by private message or by e-mail. PS: the raiden article translation will be done. Naganoyama 6,024 Posted March 19, 2004 Actually I have had a go at it, but due to my inexperience (I have never translated anything since school) it has come out in rather stilted Frenglish. If anyone is willing to look it over and suggest improvements, I imagine it is not far off. I am a huge fan of Le Monde du Sumo and I am glad it is getting such well-deserved good publicity. furanohana 3 Posted March 19, 2004 Well, I'm not it sure it was that bad ! As I told you in private mail, you can give it a try, and I'll check it after that... Anyway, if anyone wants to make this translation, please contact me directly (as I'll do the finalizing of it).
