Asojima 2,874 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) 1. Toyonoshima was robbed. He got called for a mage grab, but the NHK overhead shot clearly showed that his mage contact was brief and transitory. His control over Tochinoshin resulted from a hand on the back of the head. The mage contact had nothing to do with outcome of the match. 2. Less that half of the seats are taken. It is surprising that we are not hearing some echoes. 3. Goeido 2; Everyone else on the dohyo 0. He evicted both Taikai and a slow moving gyoji. Ama steps up to give Kakuryu a shoulder blast long after the bout is over, Kotooshu falls out of the dohyo onto his a.. like a 3 year old, and Taikai gets manhandled by Goeido, only to crash out with the gyoji and pile up on the ground, barely missing Asa's lap. And that little episode with Kak and HumptyFuji - Methinks a bit of frustration is creeping into the HF camp... Should be an interesting rematch in Jan. Frankly, their bout looked like a complete disaster, and this from two guys who are touted as some of the "Next Great Wave"... I've seen two old ladies go at it on Boxing Day at Macy's with more technique and enthusiasm. I liked YMY's exit. He must have been at least a meter from the bales... Says to Mokonami, "That's ok, I can take it from here..." Osh's execution of a perfect scuba diver's entry was a treat. Asasekiru had the ultimate body slam - except there wasn't anyone under him... Not exactly the basho I was hoping for, but there's still a long way to go. And where did all the people go? Rows and rows of empty seats...
