Kintamayama 47,171 Posted December 3, 2003 (edited) Tochiazuma is aiming for the tsuna. He has started keiko today on the winter Jungyo. Many rikishi stay away from the keiko-ba after the basho. It's cold and they need the rest and such, but not Tochiazuma-he's going all out from the start. He had ten bouts against Buyuuzan and Hokutouriki and was 9-1. He is coming off a cold, and his movements weren't optimal but " Still a lot of time till Hatsu. I'm quite satisfied with my form, seeing it's day 1 of keiko", he said. "Other rikishi are resting? For me, doing keiko during jungyo goes without saying. I have to keep my body moving. I'd like to use the jungyo to harden my body, from my legs upwards, slowly,. but surely", he added. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Asashouryuu and Kyokushuuzan are like brothers again. They were both seen romping around in a make-shift outdoor dohyo laughing and wearing matching blue Akebono robes, and generally looked like their relationship was restored to how it was in the old days.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Asashouryuu's shitakubeya today was close to a basketball court, so he took a ball and shot some hoops. Reporter says he had surprisingly good moves and did well. "Next year in the NBA? Great! I'll play the with the Rockets!!", he said. He has yet to enter the dohyo this Jungyo, though he did some workout with Kokkai and others at the "Mountain keiko", which I take to mean the outdoor make-shift thingy I mentioned earlier. His physical condition looked good. "Next year ,I'd like to win more yushos than I did this year," he hoped. Edited December 3, 2003 by Kintamayama

Azuma is the rikishi that training hard then anyone even when he was before Kadoban status he always trained (Applauding...)
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted December 3, 2003 Training is good. Let's hope Tochiazuma doesn't get injured, the eternal concern ever more realistic with his personal injury history.

QttP 0 Posted December 3, 2003 Pleeeeease, do delete surplus stuff away from your quotes. Thank you. You could ask Rijicho to do it, no? (Applauding...)
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted December 3, 2003 You could ask Rijicho to do it, no? (Applauding...) Well, yes, but it'd be more convenient if everybody did it by themselves. (Protesting...)
Fujisan 533 Posted December 3, 2003 I have this theory on Keiko from reading the inbetween basho comments-"Great in Keiko, average or worse in the basho." Either that or we keep putting jinxes on the rikishi.
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted December 5, 2003 Perhaps being on the cover of Leonishiki-zeki's sumo magazine is a jinx, like being on the cover of Sports Illustrated?
