Kintamayama 47,344 Posted July 27, 2007 Tokitsukaze Oyakata, who was kyujo from his duties in Nagoya due to "stress and fatigue", came to the Kyokai offices and gave a full explanation as to what transpired to Isenoumi Oyakata.. "I can't say anything", was all he said to the press. "He expressed his wish to fulfill his duty as the head of the Niigata Jungyo", added Isenoumi. A- Niigata was hit by an earthquake a few weeks ago. B- Tokitaizan was from Niigata. C- Tosayutaka who won the Jonidan yusho is from Tokitsukaze beya. D- OTOH, Jonokuchi winner Tokitsukasa, whose shikona sounds as if he is also from Tokitsukaze, isn't. He's from Irumagawa. E- Find the relevance.
SalParadise 0 Posted September 7, 2007 Any new information on this at all? Or has it entirely fallen off the radar? The only news I've read in the Japanese press, is that the death prompted the Kyokai to install AED (portable defibrillators) in each stable and train everyone how to use 'em. Otokonoyama 2,735 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) I would guess the heya/NSK made a hefty condolence payment to the family (SOP AFAIK), and the family agreed to let it fall off the radar, to the relief of the sumo establishment. The recent scandal quickly overtook the media's attention, but stories get followed up so rarely in the Japanese press that I doubt any new reports would have come out anyway.
