Mark Buckton 1 Posted October 10, 2006 Over the past couple of years almost every aspect of rikishi life has been looked at here on the forum but I'll wager we've not been down this road before: Wakanoho is currently back in Russia taking care of a military service commitment. It won't run too long and he'll be back in a fortnight - in plenty of time to get into shape for Kyushu. And the world turns. MB
yamaneko 2 Posted October 11, 2006 Interesting. Wonder about Korean wrestlers (guess yamada doesnt have to worry about it since he went intai). I know all koreans from 19-21 or something have to go to the military, then later on do yearly training things or something like that.
Fujisan 535 Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) Wakanoho is currently back in Russia taking care of a military service commitment. MB As a pacifist and consciencious objecter I have plenty to say about that but I fear it would be considered political and I wouldn't wanna upset NPI Oyakata Boltoyama/Torideyama either. ilovesumo 12 Posted October 12, 2006 (edited) I've seen at least Kambayashi trough the window of Wakanoho's Heya today. Many Rikishi on bikes as well in the area, must have been a big Degeiko day. The Heya I wanted to go today was closed. Isutsu had many many bikes on the street with Yukata over it, so many Degeiko guests. Kakuryu as Shinmaegashira is an interesting Keiko partner I think. At Oshima somebody had a golf lesson...part of Keiko? I mean, the swing...could be?! But funny to see it (In a state of confusion...) Edit: When I read military...could they cut his hair??????? (Holiday feeling...) Edited October 12, 2006 by ilovesumo
Shakuyaku 0 Posted October 12, 2006 Edit: When I read military...could they cut his hair??????? (Holiday feeling...) (In a state of confusion...) That would be very funny. And sad of course, but the irony of it all hits me first. "And then the haircut" "Ehh, sir, excuse me sir..." "Yes, soldier!" "Sir, I've spent alot of time and effort growing this hair, sir." "Yes, soldier?!" "Sir, it's part of a sport I participate in, sir" "Yes, and you run around in dipers as well as I understand it soldier! Scissors!!!!" For that, you are a true gentleman. While I have my own personal views on the current world situation, this much is certain. As long as our men and women have been ordered to do their duty, where ever it may be, I will continue to do my job to support them in their efforts.
