Jejima 1,494 Posted May 8, 2005 Here we go, with Nishinoshima's blessing, 'Guess the Kotomistuki' is now being turned into a Banzuke based game. To make the banzuke, let's start with the first tournament back in September 2004. For this one, there were only four tie-break questions:- Kotomitsuki scored 8-7 1)who will he face on the last day (or if injured in his last actual bout)? DEJIMA 2)will he be kachi-koshi or make-koshi KK 3)what day will he get kachi-koshi or make-koshi? Day 15 4)who is the higest ranked wrestler he will beat? KAIO Just for this first basho, it is 7 wins if you guessed his record correctly, less 1 win for every number off from the record. There are two wins for getting any tie-break question correct. The scores (in order of entry) is as follows:- Doyobi 6-9 Jakusotsu 9-6 Kintamayama 6-9 Tomitsuki 7-8 Misisko 10-5 Sakana 9-6 Mmikasazuma 9-6 Tominishiki 11-4 Kachitakai 9-6 Frinkanohana 7-8 Azumaryu 8-7 Kashunowaka 11-4 (Joint Yusho) Kaikitsune 7-8 Aderechelsea 6-9 Jejima 8-7 Sekihiryu 11-4 Oshirokita 9-6 Asashosakari 8-7 Doitsuyama 6-9 Konosato 10-5 Gusoyama 11-4 (Joint Yusho) Zenjimoto 6-9 Adachinoryu 10-5 Anjoboshi 10-5 Tamanaogijima 9-6 Nishinoshima gave me a couple of guidelines for making the banzuke (in response to my questions). The rest I'm ad libbing. I hope that's okay. For the first banzuke, players with the same record are ranked in order of who put in their entry first. The exception to this are for the two Sekiwake slots. These have been given to the two 'co-winners' of the inaugural championship. (NB The rules for the scoring for later basho could result in a player having a better record to the overall winner. But not too worry :-) ) November 2004 Banzuke Kashunowaka (11-4) S Gusoyama (11-4) Tominishiki (11-4) K Sekihiryu (11-4) Misisko (10-5) 1 Konosato (10-5) Adachinoryu (10-5) 2 Anjoboshi (10-5) Jakusotsu (9-6) 3 Sakana (9-6) Mmikasazuma (9-6) 4 Kachitakai (9-6) Oshirokita (9-6) 5 Tamanaogijima (9-6) Azumaryu (8-7) 6 Jejima (8-7) Asashosakari (8-7) 7 Tomitsuki (7-8) Frinkanohana (7-8) 8 Kaikitsune (7-8) Doyobi (6-9) 9 Kintamayama (6-9) Aderechelsea (6-9) 10 Doitsuyama (6-9) Zenjimoto (6-9)
Jejima 1,494 Posted May 8, 2005 (edited) November 2004 basho:- Okay. This time, we are playing by the full rules :-) eg 8 wins if you guessed the K's score correctly, otherwise 8 wins minus the difference in your guess. Then a bonus of one win for each correctly guessed tie-break question. There was also one bonus win awarded to the comp winner. However there were only 5 tie-break questions for this basho (there should be six), and so I decided to award 2 bonus wins to the comp winner. However, as Adach won by default (sort of came second really), I've changed this back to just one win bonus. All new players are ranked in Maezumo, and will be added to the bottom of the new banzuke (for January 2005), after all other players. Players already on the banzuke, but did not enter a team for November 2004 are all granted Kosho status. Kotomitsuki's record: 10-5 1) does he beat either chiyotaikai or asashoryu - YES (he beat Chiyotaikai) 2) what day he gets kachikoshi / make-koshi - Day 11 3) the highest ranked rikishi he defeats - KAIO (O1E) 4) who will he face on the last day - MIYABIYAMA 5) does he win that senshuraku bout - YES The results:- Kashunowaka (SE 8-7) S Gusoyama (SW 6-9) Tominishiki (KE 4-11) K Sekihiryu (KW 5-10) Misisko (M1E 6-9) 1 Konosato (M1E 7-8) Adachinoryu (M2E 11-4) 2 Anjoboshi (M2W Kosho) Jakusotsu (M3E 8-7) 3 Sakana (M3W Kosho) Mmikasazuma (M4E 6-9) 4 Kachitakai (M4W 6-9) Oshirokita (M2W Kosho) 5 Tamanaogijima (M5W 7-8) Azumaryu (M6E 8-7) 6 Jejima (M6W Kosho) Asashosakari (M7E Kosho) 7 Tomitsuki (M7W 4-11) Frinkanohana (M8E 7-8) 8 Kaikitsune (M8W Kosho) Doyobi (M9E Kosho) 9 Kintamayama (M9W 9-6) Aderechelsea (M10E 8-7) 10 Doitsuyama (M10W 8-7) Zenjimoto (M11E 7-8) 11 Mae-zumo (in order of entry): Gernobono (new 6-9) Marcomisakari (new 4-11) Taizeniki (new 7-8) Torideyama (new 5-10) Boltono (new 6-9) Sasanishiki (new 8-7) Golynohana (new 8-7) Yokotanoharry (new 4-11) Jonosuke (new 3-12) Hamanoyama (new 6-9) Heitaikai (new 7-8) Leonishiki (new 6-9) Takanorappa (new 5-10) Randomitsuki (new 7-8) Kaiyahaiya (new 7-8) Araiwa (new 5-10) Flohru (new 7-8) Metzinowaka (new 8-7) Sashimaru (new 6-9) Tsunamiko (new 4-11) Zeokage (new 8-7) Vincentoryu (new 8-7) Ryukaze (new 9-6) Shabodo (new 8-7) JW (new 7-8) The new banzuke for January 2005:- Kashunowaka (SE 8-7) S Adachinoryu (M2E 11-4) Jakusotsu (M3E 8-7) K Azumaryu (M6E 8-7) Gusoyama (SW 6-9) M1 Kintamayama (M9W 9-6) Konosato (M1E 7-8) 2 Anjoboshi (M2W Kosho) Misisko (M1E 6-9) 3 Sakana (M3W Kosho) Sekihiryu (KW 5-10) 4 Tominishiki (KE 4-11) Aderechelsea (M10E 8-7) 5 Oshirokita (M2W Kosho) Tamanaogijima (M5W 7-8) 6 Jejima (M6W Kosho) Asashosakari (M7E Kosho) 7 Doitsuyama (M10W 8-7) Mmikasazuma (M4E 6-9) 8 Kaikitsune (M8W Kosho) Doyobi (M9E Kosho) 9 Kachitakai (M4W 6-9) Frinkanohana (M8E 7-8) 10 Zenjimoto (M11E 7-8) Tomitsuki (M7W 4-11) 11 Ryukaze (new 9-6) Sasanishiki (new 8-7) 12 Golynohana (new 8-7) Metzinowaka (new 8-7) 13 Zeokage (new 8-7) Vincentoryu (new 8-7) 14 Shabodo (new 8-7) JW (new 7-8) 15 Taizeniki (new 7-8) Heitaikai (new 7-8) 16 Randomitsuki (new 7-8) Kaiyahaiya (new 7-8) 17 Flohru (new 7-8) Gernobono (new 6-9) 18 Boltono (new 6-9) Hamanoyama (new 6-9) 19 Leonishiki (new 6-9) Juryo: Sashimaru (new 6-9) J1 Torideyama (new 5-10) Takanorappa (new 5-10) 2 Araiwa (new 5-10) Marcomisakari (new 4-11) 3 Yokotanoharry (new 4-11) Tsunamiko (new 4-11) 4 Jonosuke (new 3-12) Edited May 8, 2005 by Jejima

Jejima 1,494 Posted May 8, 2005 (edited) January 2005 basho: Okay now we have full, proper rules! Points:- 8 wins minus difference in your guess to K's actual record. 1 win for each correct tie-break question. 1 bonus win to the overall champion (Aderechelsea) However, as you will see below, for this particular basho, these rules give many people LOTS of wins!!! This may mean for the future that..... a) We change the scoring rules.... b) Nishinoshima changes one or two of the tie-break questions to make them less predictable.... c) Kotomitsuki starts being less predictable.... Kotomitsuki 7-8 1)DOES HE BEAT ASASHORYU? - NO 2)DOES HE BEAT CHIYOTAIKAI? - NO 3)WHAT DAY HE GETS KACHIKOSHI / MAKEKOSHI - day 14 4)WHO IS THE HIGHEST RANKED RIKISHI HE BEATS? - KAIO (O1E) 5)WHO DOES HE MEET ON SENSHURAKU? - HAYATEUMI 6)DOES HE WIN THAT BOUT? - YES Kashunowaka (SE 10-5) S Adachinoryu (SW kosho) Jakusotsu (KE 11-4) K Azumaryu (KW 10-5) Gusoyama (M1E 10-5) M1 Kintamayama (M1W 9-6) Konosato (M2E 10-5) 2 Anjoboshi (M2W 9-6) Misisko (M3E 10-5) 3 Sakana (M3W 8-7) Sekihiryu (M4E 7-8) 4 Tominishiki (M4W kosho) Aderechelsea (M5E 13-2) 5 Oshirokita (M5W 9-6) Tamanaogijima (M6E 9-6) 6 Jejima (M6W 2-13) Asashosakari (M7E 0-0-15) 7 Doitsuyama (M7W 10-5) Mmikasazuma (M8E 7-8) 8 Kaikitsune (M8W 0-0-15) Doyobi (M9E 0-0-15) 9 Kachitakai (M9W 9-6) Frinkanohana (M10E 9-6) 10 Zenjimoto (M10W 8-7) Tomitsuki (M11E kosho) 11 Ryukaze (M11W kosho) Sasanishiki (M12E kosho) 12 Golynohana (M12W 9-6) Metzinowaka (M13E kosho) 13 Zeokage (M13W 6-9) Vincentoryu (M14E 9-6) 14 Shabodo (M14W kosho) JW (M15E kosho) 15 Taizeniki (M15W kosho) Heitaikai (M16E 10-5) 16 Randomitsuki (M16W 10-5) Kaiyahaiya (M17E 11-4) 17 Flohru (M17W 10-5) Gernobono (M18E kosho) 18 Boltono (M18W kosho) Hamanoyama (M19E 9-6) 19 Leonishiki (M19W kosho) Juryo: Sashimaru (J1E 9-6) J1 Torideyama (J1W kosho) Takanorappa (J2E 9-6) 2 Araiwa (J2W kosho) Marcomisakari (J3E kosho) 3 Yokotanoharry (J3W kosho) Tsunamiko (J4E kosho) 4 Jonosuke (J4W 9-6) Maezumo: Tomoe (new 7-8) Jesinofuji (new 5-10) Mattjila (new 7-8) Usagi (new 3-12) Hakuyobaku (new 10-5) Asashosakari (new 10-5) Tameiki (new 8-7) Araiguma_Rascal (new 9-6) Chiisabuke (new 5-10) Yubiquitoyama (new 7-8) March 2005 banzuke Kashunowaka (SE 10-5) S1 Jakusotsu (KE 11-4) Azumaryu (KW 10-5) S2 Adachinoryu (SW kosho) Aderechelsea (M5E 13-2) K1 Gusoyama (M1E 10-5) Konosato (M2E 10-5) K2 Kintamayama (M1W 9-6) Misisko (M3E 10-5) M1 Anjoboshi (M2W 9-6) Sakana (M3W 8-7) 2 Doitsuyama (M7W 10-5) Oshirokita (M5W 9-6) 3 Tamanaogijima (M6E 9-6) Kachitakai (M9W 9-6) 4 Tominishiki (M4W kosho) Sekihiryu (M4E 7-8) 5 Frinkanohana (M10E 9-6) Golynohana (M12W 9-6) 6 Zenjimoto (M10W 8-7) Kaiyahaiya (M17E 11-4) 7 Heitaikai (M16E 10-5) Randomitsuki (M16W 10-5) 8 Vincentoryu (M14E 9-6) Mmikasazuma (M8E 7-8) 9 Flohru (M17W 10-5) Hamanoyama (M19E 9-6) 10 Sashimaru (J1E 9-6) Tomitsuki (M11E kosho) 11 Ryukaze (M11W kosho) Sasanishiki (M12E kosho) 12 Takanorappa (J2E 9-6) Metzinowaka (M13E kosho) 13 Jonosuke (J4W 9-6) Zeokage (M13W 6-9) 14 Shabodo (M14W kosho) JW (M15E kosho) 15 Taizeniki (M15W kosho) Jejima (M6W 2-13) 16 Gernobono (M18E kosho) Boltono (M18W kosho) 17 Leonishiki (M19W kosho) Juryo: Kaikitsune (M8W 0-0-15) J1 Torideyama (J1W kosho) Doyobi (M9E 0-0-15) 2 Araiwa (J2W kosho) Marcomisakari (J3E kosho) 3 Yokotanoharry (J3W kosho) Tsunamiko (J4E kosho) 4 Hakuyobaku (new 10-5) Asashosakari (new 10-5) 5 Araiguma_Rascal (new 9-6) Tameiki (new 8-7) 6 Tomoe (new 7-8) Mattjila (new 7-8) 7 Yubiquitoyama (new 7-8) Jesinofuji (new 5-10) 8 Chiisabuke (new 5-10) Usagi (new 3-12) 9 Intai: Asashosakari (M7E 0-0-15) Edited May 8, 2005 by Jejima

All I was saying is, feel free to consider me intai after Haru basho, so no need to include me on the Natsu banzuke when you get to it (I'd only be pulling a Kotoryu anyway since I didn't send an entry this time). Sakana 46 Posted May 18, 2005 (edited) I have made Haru and Natsu banzuke. I tried to fix the issue about Asashosakari, so Jejima take a look about my job. I have seen that Asashosakari and Doitsuyama did a same basho so I moved Asasho with Doitsu and I move everybody, after, one cluster to the floor ; in natsu banzuke, I saw that Misisko with a 8-7 jump to one cluster up, so I did the same to Asashosakari and arrange the rest of the banzuke in the same order with one cluster different. I hope my english is not too bad that you'll understand what I've done ;-) I hope, too, that I didn't make any mistake in the banzuke (lil' bit tired those days ^^). Nishinoshima : Ok, I'll add an Union Jack to Adachinoryu and add flag to everybody in natsu's banzuke (but now : I'll take a nap :-(). About the site, as long that my internet's provider will give me a good connection, I'll keep the site (Whatever above, it is funny...) Guess The Kotomitsuki Banzukes (Whatever above, it is funny...) Jejima 1,494 Posted May 18, 2005 I'll take a look at the banzuke fixes that you (Sakana) made at some point in the next couple of days. If I do ask for some minor adjustments, would that be okay to fix? Cheers! ;-)

Sakana 46 Posted May 19, 2005 Job's done ! :-P I hope I have forgotten nothing :-S Now, someone can help me to add the right flag to those who are "?" in the banzuke ? :-S
Jejima 1,494 Posted May 20, 2005 Looks like Kotomitsuki is sick of having everybody getting a KK in the GTK game ;-) He is at 10-2 now, and I've just checked the entries for this basho. Although there are a few players who predicted 10-5 for him, no-one predicted anything better...... What happens then Nishinoshima? If Kotomitsuki goes 11-4 (or better)will the prize still be awarded?
Odoriou 0 Posted May 20, 2005 What happens then Nishinoshima? If Kotomitsuki goes 11-4 (or better)will the prize still be awarded? A new chance for everyone? B-) Even for those who guessed something silly like "6-9" for instance? ;-) Just want to notice: It's great to see 8 different flags in Sanyaku of the current Banzuke. And 23 different flags in total (the 'question marks' not even considered). (Sign of approval)
