Kintamayama 47,232 Posted February 12, 2005 Probable Sanyaku returnee Shimotori (26) got married today at the Imperial Hotel in Chiyoda-ku . 500 guests were invited. His wife is 28 year old Sumio. "I was really nervous. I'd rather do Sumo..", he joked, perspiring. "I won't be alone anymore, so I hope to gambarize", he added, looking forward to his certain Sanyaku return. After Osaka, he will be moving in with his new wife to their "mansion", as the paper puts it.

I guess I meant "eventual Sanyaku returnee". The article said "aiming for Sanyaku return". No date was set or mentioned. I apologise for the confusion. Odoriou 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Shimotori's highest rank was Maegashira 1 East in last year... or am I wrong? (Shaking head...) I wouldn't call that "Sanyaku" - so how could he "return" there...? I'm still confused. ;-)

It turns out that Shimotori was Komusubi West in March 2004, then slid down, climbed up for September to Maegashira 1 East and has since then been falling... (Sign of disapproval) Well, good luck to him, but I doubt he will make it back to sanyaku, unless of course some of the older guys at the sanyaku ranks retire and make room for him. ;-)
