Uniqlo- official sponsor of the Kyokai

Rather disappointing, to be honest. I was expecting one with, say, a remote controller flying at speed or one with bet slips at least, to have the sumo culture more truthfully represented.

You know, your forum output of the last 12, maybe 18 months is making me wonder if you actually like sumo anymore. Nothing but griping and negativity. What happened?

I probably should have added a sarcasm tag somewhere — that was a flimsy attempt at humor.

In all honesty, I do like the t-shirts. However, ever since Uniqlo was exposed for manufacturing part of their products in Xinjiang, reportedly in prison camps, and, to my knowledge, has neither acknowledged nor addressed this, I’ve made a personal decision to stop purchasing their products.

As for forum contributions, I don’t feel I have the depth or insight to offer anything as valuable as what you or the other esteemed members regularly share. So instead, I resort to some (often unsuccessful) attempts at being funny. I lurked for 5-6 years before getting a registration.

In terms of enjoyment, though, I have to say that ever since Hakuho’s decline began, I’ve actually enjoyed the tournaments more. The unpredictability has made things exciting — unexpected winners like Tsurugisho, Tamawashi, and others have really spiced things up. Especially in the past year, there’s a whole wave of promising young rikishis, so each day brings a real sense of tension and anticipation.

I’ve even started participating (with no success) in GTB, encouraged by many members here. It’s my small way of showing appreciation for the hard work the team puts into running it.

But you might be right - with age, we all get more cynical, no?

Maybe there was just an expectation of more hinkaku from a forum regular?  After all, you are the Yokozuna.;-)
