Sekitori Sweepstake - September 2024

Recommended Posts

J5W nelimw will cross fingers for J12w Kiryuko.

Kiryuko is also a shin-sekitori. Last basho he defeated two (out of two) Juryo rikishi (whilst ranked in Makushita), so he's certainly not out of place in this division.

J4W Getayukata's rikishi is J11e Tomokaze.

Tomokaze withdrew from the previous basho on day 12. Hopefully he is fit to fight this basho.

J2W Sakura will hope for good things from J11w Takerufuji.

....so there is a good chance that Sakura will need a substitute. But if Takerufuji is miraculously fit, and back to his best, then this could be an amazing draw for Sakura.....

M9W Meletyoshi needs to follow J3e Tamashoho.

This will be the Mongolian's 10th basho in Juryo. Aged 31, he really needs to make his move soon to join the top division for the first time.
