Sumo exhibition at Osaka Museum of History

Recommended Posts

The Osaka Museum of History will be staging a temporary exhibition entitled Ozumo and Japanese Swords in July and August, supported by the NSK and the sumo museum foundation. Woodblock prints and other items depicting the history of swords in sumo will be on display; Hakuho's tachi will feature as a special exhibit during August. In addition, the exhibition will put a spotlight on the history of sumo in Osaka, presenting items such as kesho-mawashi and photographs from the Museum's archives.

(I almost put this into the tachi discussion but I figured it might deserve its own thread. Feel free to merge if needed.)

A very good pic of Kisenosato's tachi - the English explanation is clearly readable (especially enlarged)
