Masumasumasu 902 Posted July 4, 2015 Does anyone know what the average t-shirt size would be for a Makuuchi level rikishi? 2x? 3x? 4x? Thanks
Washuyama 641 Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) Helped purchase a T-shirt for Yamamotoyama once.... 8XL was a tad snug for him... Of course he's not your typical "average" rikishi. Edited July 13, 2015 by Washuyama

Where do they even sell such things? Online store from the US... Can't remember the exact one. Googled for supersized men's clothes, I think. Where do they even sell such things? Lion-do shop in Ryogoku 4-chome is famous for large sizes. Big shop on the corner, across the road from a large Mizuho Bank. Johnofuji 232 Posted July 15, 2015 I would say that your average sumotori at about 150 kegs would take a 5 XL or 6 XL. I have a list of sizes that Minezaki beya sent me when they visited but they don't have many in that stable that are very large but the guys around 150 kgs wanted 5 or 6 XL and most prefer them loose. 12XL were the biggest I could find in Australia some time ago for an Oceania Tournament. The Kiwi sumo team laughed as they struggled to put them on because they reckon they were only like their regular 3XL back in New Zealand. Made in China of course. I got some generous 10XL shirts made up by a sponsor recently . I intended to pass them on to rikishi mates but my deshi of Samoan descent are bigger than most sumotori and they needed the larger ones.(one guy is up to about 270 kgs now and is not billowing and voluptuous like Konishiki). I don't like posting personal pics but my two kids, wife and myself can all fit in the 10XL at the same time. (made in Bangladesh). I sometimes send shirts to Kotoviki to pass on the rikishi below juryo as they don't much money to spend on themselves. She also gets some US sizes from the military base as gifts.

torquato 1,075 Posted July 18, 2015 Walked along there plenty of times but never noticed. Well, if Orora ever makes a holiday trip to Berlin he can go shopping as any other tourist does.
