To increase the number of strategies, the minimum rikishi in a team was reduced to 4.

Kachikoshi points were abolished

Please keep improvement suggestions coming !

GOOD LUCK

A ginboshi is worth more than the yusho?

Asashosakari, can u elaborate on your thought ?

not sure, if I understand your calculation...

You've written that the rikishi's wins are subject to the multiplier, which implies that the points calculation is: Points = (wins * multiplier) * 3 + bonuses. Gin/kinboshi give extra wins, so a ginboshi would be worth up to 90 points, while the yusho/sansho bonuses don't get multiplied at all. 90 points > 50 points.

I think Asashosakari has a point here. Even I think, the total of such bout comes to 120 points. max for ginboshi ( 3 extra wins, total 4 wins * 3 points/win = 12 points, and if you have this Maegashira on spot #1, 12 multiplied by 10 = 120 points).

For kinboshi the same case equals to 180 points.

I think ginboshi and kinboshi should be awarded additional points only, say 20 for kinboshi and 10 for ginboshi, or whatever points you decide.

i have another question. In case there are 2 or more Jun-yusho winners:

1.) Does every Jun-yusho winner get 32 points?

or

2.) 32 points are divided by the number of Jun-yusho winners, and the resulting points are asigned to each Jun-yusho winner. Say,

2 Jun-yusho winners = 16 points for each of them,

3 Jun-yusho winners = 10.67 points for each of them,

4 Jun-yusho winners = 8 points for each of them, etc.

Andonishiki...thanks for all your hard work on the game. Much appreciated.

Yes, clearly there's undue weight on the bonus points for kinboshi and ginboshi. Perhaps, like the special prizes, these could be just a single bonus score?

Too late to change the rules for this basho, but this is a good game so I hope we can all (via suggestions) come up with a good balanced set of rules for Aki...and then it can reclaim its deserved spot on the Superbanzuke.

360 actually, 90 per ginboshi. With the rules given in the OP, a ginboshi is worth 3 wins = 9 points, to be multipled by the slot value, so up to 9*10 points.

I dunno, maybe that's not the intended result and there's just some serious mixing-up of "wins" and "points" in the stated rules?

I got an email notification of a post by Andonishiki about a rules update to go closer to the original rules, but it seems to have been deleted.

Was this intentional?

yes, that was intentional...

I found out yesterday with the help of Doitsuyama, that my 'new' rules were radically changing the nature of the game...

I had never 100% understood the "old" rules and I got really angry of myself being so stupid...

Basic difference:

"old" Gusoyama rules:

add ALL points of one rikishi together (wins, yusho, kinboshi, etc) and then multiply with rank (10,9,8, etc)

"new" andonishiki rules:

take points for win only, then multiply with rank.

Add extra points for yusho, kinboshi etc at the end....

I hereby confess, that changing the game so much was not intentional !

Further I think the old rules are better and should be reinstated....

I already had a draft ready for going back to old rules - with some slight modifications - but I deleted it, as already more than ten players have submitted teams and changing the rules now looks really bad.

It might be the best, if I post my new version of rules in a seperate thread in this forum, that gamers can discuss them and install them for aki basho 2013 as Pandaazuma suggested.

apologies for a the confusion

it's not easy to step into gusoyama's shoes

they are BIIIIIG

@ Vikanohara - at current stage without calculation of extra points YES.

cause Kise on 10 is not bad and your guys on 8 Oki, 7 Aoi, 5 Ozan and 4 Masunoyama all do quite well.

Your total number of wins is 50 after day 12, same as Wamahada !

A third player has 50 wins, that is Taka, but he got Tochinoshin on 10 and Toyonoshima on 9, so he's only 11th overall.

I'm currently working on the kinboshi / ginboshi inclusion till day 12,

I expect a lot of changes after that calculation is done.

stay tuned

wow. till day 12, we have seen 2 Kinboshi - Takayasu and Chiyotairyu and 7 (seven !) Ginboshi (3x Ozan, 2x Takayasu, 1x each Chiyotairyu & Aminishiki)

honestly, that is MUCH more, than I have expected.

the rules say,

Ginboshi: adds 3 extra wins to the rikishi's win count
Kinboshi: adds 5 extra wins to the rikishi's win count

therefore....

Takayasu 3+3+5 = adds 11 extra wins

Tochiozan 3+3+3 = adds 9 extra wins

Chiyotairyu 3+5 = adds 8 extra wins

Aminishiki adds 3 extra wins

Lets's have a look, how many times, these heros have been chosen into a SCS Team:

no one has chosen Takayasu.

4 players have chosen Aminishiki

3 players have chosen Chiyotairyu

21 players have chosen Tochiozan

Grrr! Dammit...this doesn't count in the world championships, eh!?

Oh well...I picked my lads based on the kinboshi/giboshi thing...I assume the rules will be different come September! Thanks for organizing the game.

Kisenosato & Kaisei scored both 11 wins, the 32 jun-yusho points need to be split in half. but a few players have both men in their team, i'm sure...

as for sansho, only Takayasu gets one, but no-one has picked him.

final scores to be posted within the next few hours.

There might be a surprising change in the lead...
