Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted March 9, 2003 Toki: THUMP! Tremendouns fall off the dohyo. Equal weight distribution though at impact so flattening didn't seem devastating. Blue mawashi trembled, audience sighed and Osaka shook. Ami & Tsuumi: Dashinage technicians did well to dispose their foes. Tsuumi in particular was in full control throughout the bout and did a subtle and businesslike dashinage against multiple stomach Tsuru. Tsuumi had his favourite stance from which he very rarely loses. Akinoshima: Feeble intai-sumo. Wakanosato: Determined power. Kaiho: Slipped grips. Kotomitsuki: Impressive but a lot of tape around his right elbow too. Hard to say anything yet. Takamisakari: Did bull-like foot moves before the bout. Kaio: Tried something strange after a tentative tachi-ai. Nada: Read Kaio perfectly, put Nada-pressure when Kaio was trying some weird move and continued his great streak. Now 12 straight wins. Taikai: Strong tachi-ai and sharp moves Tenho: Great defensive strength
Hashira 0 Posted March 9, 2003 aminishiki--WOW!! i don't know the proper terms for what he did, but it was extremely impressive
Tony 16 Posted March 9, 2003 For Aminishiki, it was an uwatedashinage. And Dejima's sotogake was very impressive. Wonderful balance!
Zentoryu 154 Posted March 9, 2003 Kaio: Tried something strange after a tentative tachi-ai.Nada: Read Kaio perfectly, put Nada-pressure when Kaio was trying some weird move and continued his great streak. Now 12 straight wins. It may still be very early in this basho, but it appears violating my #1 rule for picking a BS squad has indeed come back to bite me in the rear. :-P

Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 9, 2003 I have Kaio as well --- arrrgh :-@ :-P I hope he gets better. Not the easiest shonichi match he could have had, but come on, he's ozeki, he should do better.
Zentoryu 154 Posted March 10, 2003 (Maybe my 1st rule should be to pick Kaio when Zentoryu doesn't pick him...) A very good idea indeed! (Laughing...) On the other hand, he won on day 2, so maybe there's some hope left. (Smiling dryly...)
Fujisan 533 Posted March 11, 2003 I told you guys but nobody listened, this is Taikais basho and Kaio cannot win the Yusho aswell can he. Never mind lads.
Manekineko 200 Posted March 11, 2003 It might be little early to award yusho to Taikai yet ;) But I believe he'll be in the running for it, since he regularly produces his best results when he's kadoban. :O Not a good pattern for a yokozuna promotion... Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Kadoban or not, it's nice to have ozeki fighting it out instead of sitting kyujo. Maybe kadoban is better, since it gives them more drive not to be demoted (Laughing...)
