A heavy intai toll this basho (Help me...) May they all have long healthy lives after sumo.

Why did the banzuke-gai retire?

Heavy in quality, very small in quantity.. I actually think it's one of the lowest number of retirees in a while..

I just updated my rikishi database with the retirement updates and yes, this are relatively few retirements. But -- all but Yamamura were at least nine years in Ozumo. One question though... who the heck is Yamamura? Maybe you read the kanji wrong? I don't have such a banzuke-gai in my list...

That would likely be "Yamamuro" of Kokonoe-beya and of Ibaraki-ken who was ranked as Jk27w in Aki. Same kanji I suppose?

Indeed it is-Yamamuro- and I got it from the hiragana, so the kanji is irrelevant.. Sloppy, as usual..

Sorry..
