Kintamayama 47,173 Posted October 26, 2003 (edited) Musashimaru has completed 100 keiko matches during the jungyo. Yesterday, he had 10 matches against Takamisakari (well..) and others and won them all. He still has an uneasiness in his left wrist, but beat Tochinonada by Yorikiri with a left hand hold (hidari-yotsu), so things seem to be picking up some. He is generally looking good, says the media. He went at a pace of ten matches a day in keiko since the 10th, so he has more than a hundred under his belt. He is doing everything to avoid another kyujo in the middle of a tournament, due to insufficient training. Now, he awaits Fukuoka to uphold his tarnished, 6 straight- kyujo- riddled honor. OTOH, when pressed to declare he's in, he declined. "I managed to do a lot of keiko. We've still got two weeks", he said. Musashigawa Oyakata: "Asashouryuu is OK. Musashimaru is trying his best to get into shape. I wonder how good a shape he will be in..". Hmm.. Asashouryuu has removed the taping he has been using after his injury. "The pain is almost gone. Kyushu has good vibes for me. I'll be doing my best!!", he said. Edited October 26, 2003 by Kintamayama

Mark Buckton 1 Posted October 26, 2003 I reckon they both retire in March move to Holland and get married again-o each other- Chiyotaikai is the best man- Tochiazuma and Musoyama the bridesmaids. Meanwhile in their absense Kaio gets promoted to Yokozuna. Now remember, you heard it here first. Perhaps not Fujisan, After a TV show yesterday featuring a few of the tops guys in a talent, sumo with kids, singing and 'strongest man in sumo' competition they (both Yokozuna) displayed no ability in anything outside the ring. Chiyotaikai won the strongest man thing which involved punching (a bag - 235kg? per sq inch I think), arm wrestling and sawing through wood. (think Kyokutenho was second). Former Terao did well too! Yokozuna did the sumo with kids for fun but a schools champ gave Takamisakari a run for his money somewhat by oshidasi(ing) him. Sakari demanded a rematch and went at it far more seriously - won of course. Kotomitsuki - should never be left alone with a microphone again - murdered an old Japanese song. Tochiazuma - visited his old school, ate lunch and could only come up with 'I eat a lot' when asked why he was so big. Also gave a speech on the dangers of crossing the road - as you do when you are a sekitori visiting your old school. All made for a rather amusing Sunday afternoon. ANR - now leaving to pick up the banzuke - watch this space to see if I'm first.

They need to have the rikishi back on Tokyo Fun Park 2 again....I have the tape of that from way back in the day; there, at least, Konishiki showed some penchant for being able to name that tune.... Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted October 29, 2003 Any chance you could digitize parts of that tape on a web site somewhere, Takanobaka-zeki? That would be awesome! (Neener, neener...)
