Australian Female Sumo

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope that she has taken much out of her short time there that can lay a good platform for the future. I wish her well back on the gold Coast.

Sorry to say that Sammy has left Japan and is now back in Australia and back at school for the new term which just started.

She didn't have any problem with the sumo, but there were some ongoing and unresolved issues about her long distance education and her health which caused her parents to decide to bring her home.

Sammy intends to continue with sumo in Australia

Did she participate in the women's tournament last week?

Yes she did. The results reported online were a bit sketchy as they focussed on certain athletes and who had done well. From what I found, I think she lost in the first round of the open category and then lost in the first round of repechage. However, I wouldn't put a steak dinner on that being authoritative.

Well I thought you were a veggie so why not a vegan buffet for example , instead of a steak dinner?

OT: Reports of my vegetarianism (or veganism) are grossly overstated. I am a carnivore, just a poor one who doesn't have all the facts, thus declining on betting a steak dinner.

I thought you were more of a lamb man.Or perhaps it is the exotic maori chanko -pork bones and puha? Or maybe even spam - the staple diet of Hawaiian sumotori.Have you seen the size of those Spam onigiri? Katrina has a great story about Akebono leaning out the window beckoning his mates in for a feast ."....and we got spam too!" said big Chad.

Back on Topic the Sumo Sammy clan are the masters of the Sumo Charity Sausage sizzles.Reminds me of Homer Simpson and watermelon or that Farside comic where the Donut factory baker is scratching his head wondering why he is making thousands a day and only selling a few donuts. In the background you can see a the sumo sized assistant sweeping up the crumbs. Her brother and I went for some nice midnight mystery offal noodles in Taiwan.

Isn't amasumo just steak aspirations with sausage skills?

Good video. With all respects to Orion (who has to work with him), Hiro has this annoying habit of being a verbal wave machine. Each sentence begins and ends with the same lilt. Actually watching him speak, we can now add the head bob to the wave action. Synchronicity is a wonderful thing. Yeah, and he makes my ears hurt.

I wish Sammy had a more explosive tachi-ai. With her build and lower centre-of-gravity, she could easily blow opponents out right from the start with more aggresiveness. I seriously think she is afraid of hurting her opponent, relying on throws and lifts in order to win. Give her a Kotomitsuki-style tachi-ai, and she's immediately number 1.
