Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted July 13, 2003 (edited) The Sumo Chat on this forum that has been in existance a few days and is announced on the top of the forum is growing, and I hope more and more join in during the matches. Today we were 8 as most and 6 or 7 during the whole Makunouchi division, but anyone watching the matches would be fun to chat with, so keep coming :'-( There were people in the chat already at least from the Juryo dohyo-iri and I hope there will be more tomorrow. I'll be there again at least :-P Edited July 13, 2003 by Yubiquitoyama
Zenjimoto 40 Posted July 13, 2003 One somewhat unrelated thing about the chat, if I am around, all Yahoo Messenger users have the option ov viewing my webcam, which will be wired to the LIVE TV Japan broadcast of the action. If more than one person is viewing that transmission, the frame rate is just about 1 frams per second, which is not as fast as the live stream on the NSK web site, but the image quality is certainly better, and it may be interesting for some of you to see the different camera angles of the actual telecast (vs. just the one-camera view of the feed). You are welcome to request to view my cam. My Yahoo ID is westerreich. All you need to view it is Yahoo Messenger, and to log in with your own Yahoo ID. Cheers Zenjimoto

Zentoryu 154 Posted July 13, 2003 I can get in the Bench sumo chatroom but theres never anyone there and thats an exception to the general rule. It seems to have been abandoned for some reason. The last couple of times I went there back in Nov. and Jan. there wasn't a single person on line. Kind of strange considering about a year and a half ago it was one of the most active chat rooms out there, with up to a dozen or more people in there every night during the basho. :'-( I guess everyone just migrated to different chat rooms. Either that or the BS chat had problems I wasn't aware of.
Oshirokita 198 Posted July 14, 2003 Probably the fault of my computer, but I am unable to get into the sumoforum chat. I experimented yesterday but even though it said that I was in, I was unable to display anything at all. I really miss those days when there were lots of people to chat with. Especially now, since I have TV Japan on cable! As it is, however, I will probably not be able to stay up late enough again until day 14 due to lack of sleep interfering with my productivity at work.. Fujisan 533 Posted July 14, 2003 Whenever I go in the BS chatroom, theres either no one there or someone is just leaving-Maybe its my cyber body odour.

Chinonofuji 35 Posted July 14, 2003 About when do the Makuuchi matches start, east coast time? Thanks.
Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted July 14, 2003 About when do the Makuuchi matches start, east coast time? Thanks. I believe North American east coast is thirteen hours behind Japan so that would mean 3 AM, wouldn't it? 3.20 AM would probably be more or less the time there's a pause before makuuchi action begins. Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted July 14, 2003 I go away for a week's vacation, come back and there's a chat room! That's great ;) Perhaps I should go away more often ;) Unfortunately 3AM is a sleep time over here on the East coast, so I don't know if you'll see me there during matches. I'll try to stop by when I can...
