  1. Could you please explain this to me ? Do you know Japanese to understand this one ? Thanks
  2. There seem to be more kimarite i have never heard of before. (tottari, kirikaeshi, uchimuso) (or at least forgotten already).
  3. I cant wait to go home from work and see an isamiashi, whatever this is.
  4. Though i hope, that he is right, i know, that he is wrong. Tochiazuma will wrap up 8-10 wins and stop there.
  5. I was just taking a look at past Yusho winners on the current Banzuke. There are six right now with Kaio, Chiyotaikai, Kotomitsuki, Tochiazuma and Dejima right there underneath Asashoryu. Considering we could see three or more of these guys retire before anyone new wins the cup, we'd be down to a pretty lean list. I've seen people talk about stats for how many rikishi won during the tenure of a certain Yokozuna but I wanted to ask this, on one condition: I will already doubt the original text. Three will not retire, before Kotoosho or Hakuho will win their first yusho
  6. In Germany there are only the internet link, banzuke.com and the two months old Eurosport available ? BTW, i moved houses last week and will not have a fast internet access for four weeks (could you believe it ?). So, is there anyone in Munich, who is willing to host a sumo watching session on the weekends ?
  7. I may look unworthy, but did she offer any quotes on the 69 record ?
  8. I admit, that i did not donate anything for sumo gaming until now. I would like to change this. Can i just add all the games together and make a single donation or is it important to which game i donate ? And which games are relevant ?
  9. Please wait for the bashing till i have finished. Of course the Juryo game is something very special and different from any other game (proof: at this game, i would really suck, at the other games, i only suck), and if it vanishes, there will be no game about Juryo any more. But recently, i had the impression, that we had a decline in many games, even complete intais of very experienced sumo gamers. Obviously, we could do nothing, if these gamers have no interest in sumo any more or have absolutely no time. On the other hand, if you concentrate on just 3 or 4 games a basho, the needed time will kept at a reasonable level. I do not want to kill games, but i have the opinion, that we are going into the wrong direction. Another idea, which will reduce the necessary time for the sumo gamers, is to create a single entry for all pre-basho games and translate this input into the input for all other games. E.g. if you make a qualified entry for toto, you could derive all other entries.
  10. "Surprisingly" there is no third K or S slot. Luckily, i was not the first one to see and point out ...
  11. I also would not say "great, we are having a European Ozeki". I admire his skill and am happy, that he made Ozeki, but my feelings would not have been other, if he was from any other country.
  12. 66 players have Futeno in hoshitori ? The "i am glad, that i stayed in makuuchi, but i will surely do well in the meat-grinder"-Futeno ? At least i am glad, that Doitsuyama seems to share my opinion. Coming back to the topic, i luckily picked, besides Tochiazuma of course, in Hoshitori only rikishis, who are still able to compete. In Bench Sumo, my bench has already reduced to 8. (I apologize to my Ichimon.) This time, i will be a very big burden. As this is my 200th post (and my promotion to Juryo-posting) i would add: Thank you very much, that you still answer my questions and bear my (inknowledgable) comments
  13. Interesting point: 1) Asashoryu 2) Chiyotaikai, if he continues as in his last two bashos 2.5) Tochiazuma (a half, because he is a worthy Ozeki, if he is healthy 3.5) Kotoosho - this will only be a matter of time And then we have to wait until Hakuho gets old enough and we have our 4-5 Ozeki. Kotokmitsuki und Wakanosato, imho will not become Ozeki, or at least will no play a strong role.
  14. correct. Then you say, the first group is bigger than the second or other way round ? (* did anyone really believe i could have imagined that Takamisakari would become Yokuzuna ? *)
  15. This Monday i watched the German Eurosport and AvdG made an ambigous (in my opinion) statement: The Japanese would really like Takamisakari becoming a Yokuzuna. Is this true ? They like him of course, but i doubt, that they will like him as a Yokuzuna ? Besides from the fact, that they want a Japanese Yokuzuna of course.
  16. Thank you very much for your help. Again i want to mention, that i have a Tamanoi rikishi in mind, who could become Yokuzuna in 2006. (Band playing...)
  17. What does this mean. Checking the glossary does not help (me) either:
  18. REcently i have decided not to play GTB any more, but this looks like a real task. Maybe
  19. I wonder why no one has objected on the Tochiazuma part ? Of course, i also accept, that he had some bad results as an Ozeki in recent years, especially when he was injured. Nontheless, he is the second best rikishi this year, even better than Kotoosho (52 win against 46, including day 14). This is a sound performing, even for an Ozeki. With todays loss Kotoosho will not become Ozeki, but has of course a very good position for Fukuoka. But i will take this for granted and i for myself would not bet on more than 1:1.
  20. Toki, 2-12 from J5 will get down to a position, where a mk could/will lead to demotion from Juryu. Does anyone have an idea, how far Toki will continue ?
  21. Asashoryu can save his chances for yusho, but it is Kotoosho who provides the opportunity for yusho. (freely adapted from the great general)
  22. Noone asked so far, but i am interested: Why does Tochiazuma fight against Kotoosho on day 11. Wasnt there a perfect chance for a 4 day-tournament of all Yokuzuna, Ozekis and sekiwakes/leaders ?
  23. I would like to know where that number comes from. Is this a quote from a sumo game or do you have your own model ? Or a you just psychic ? :-O
  24. Maybe some of us are taking the sumo games too serious ? If the server is down for half a day, so what ? Worst thing is, that you have to make an autopick on most games (but ALL are making an autopick) and loose a few games without an autopick. Do you really think it is appropriate sending the picks by email to the administrator ? BTW, how donates 2$ per game anyway ?
  25. Is the standing in ISP so bad already, that you want to give every one a free lunch ?
