  1. :'-( After all, Tochiazuma is still young and i am quite confident, that he will come back. Btw, what happens, if he is too injured to start in the next few tournaments ? Wenn will he be forced to retire or can he come back at any time ? I dont think it is that easy. Of course with Tochiazuma out and Chiyotaikai out of form it is much easier. But provided Kaio looses to Asashoryu he has to win the next 7 matches. And if he does, i think he deserves it.

Why you don't take payments for the movies, so you have some award for your hard work (in case you want continue) ? I would love to send a payment. Me too
  3. Or at least until he makes his kk on day 8. (Sad goodbyes...)
  4. No, he doesn`t. :-/
  5. At first I want to thank all of you, who provide us non-japanese sumo fans with any kind of information, including videos of course. Second, in Germany it is not possible to get the videos earlier then two months late. Even if you are willing to pay. That it, i for myself are quite willing to pay for the videos, but i do not have a possibility.
  6. I am not quite sure if i am mistakening the price lists, but it is true, that the places near the ring are only 14300 Yen ? This is about 100-200 Euro/Dollars. I always thought, that these places are rare and would cost about ten times. Could you please tell me, if tickets are more expensive in Tokio ?
  7. Though I like facts too, i think, you are interpreting too much into it. Just hope Kaio will do his best.
  8. About Kaio: i agree About Hakuho: I think we all agree, that Hakuho has a great talent and has very good chances of becoming Yokzuna some day, but that day will not be in 2005 or even 2006. Most of them had their drawback as they moved the way up to the top and in this special case he has to beat Asashoryu twice. And this will be difficult.
  9. I for myself would like to see a Tochiazuma yusho; i like him personal, his sumo and i personally feel addicted to his bad luck with injuries. For Kaio i hope, that he will not win. Kaio is old and will not win many yushos after Kyushu. I am quite sure he deserves it, but i think he deserves it even more to be the tragic best Ozeki of all time. For Musoyama i hope, he will get kk and use the chance to retire with dignity. For any sport it is good, when the best wins more often than others, so i like to see Asa win, but on the other hand four yushu (s?) in a year will be enough.
  10. You think so ? I dont think that any one of these two is a kandidate for a regular 10+. I also think, that Hakuho will need some more time and will not become Ozeki in 2005. But we will see. The most likely Ozeki promotion i see is of tochiazuma. Btw, could anyone provide me/us with the status of his and Musoyamas Health ?
  11. We have to thank you for your effort in any way. :-) I was just curios.
  12. One Question about the accuracy of the data. Do they weight the Riksihi all the time or are the weights estimates ? And are these numbers more reliable than the German commentatory in Eurosport ?
  13. OK, I apologize for this one. I did not read the discussion in the other topic (Oops! )
  14. I will not compare Chiyotaikai with Asashoryu, but being the first Ozeki and second of all qualifies for supreme skill. Not my or your opinion is relevant but results. Talking of results, I think it is a bit unfair against Tochiazuma, if you also count the bashos in which he was injured. Maybe I didn't say it, but I do not like Chiyotaikai and I do not like his style. But colorful means many colors, not only the one you like. I think, that one bad basho is just ok. I don't see a trend at the moment. BTW, has anybody ever thought about the possibility, that there is no Ozeki at the end of the year ?
  15. Well, I think you are a bit unfair. Noone makes so many kk as an ozeki without supreme skill. Additionally Sumo lives from the broad variety of different styles. And without Chiyotaikai the basho will be less colorful. On the other hand, when fighting against real good ones, i.e. yokuzuna he regularly failed, in the last matches even pathetic.
  16. What a topic .... A nations cup between Mongolia and Japan with Asashoryu winning 12 of Mongolias 15 points. Of course we all know, that there are a couple of first class mongolian rikishi, but the mongolian success in the "nations cup" depends only on Asashoryu. Moreover, the Japanese team for the Aki Basho should contain Tochiazuma, as he is the only one with a positive statistics against Asashoryu in the last three clashs. The main reason for this topic is, in my oppinion the fact, that it looks like a boring basho. Asashoryu will make his fifth win in a row, no ozeki could lose his rank and no one else has a good record to become ozeki untill the end of the year. But often, when I thought something could become pretty boring, it turned out very exciting, so lets see.
  17. Well, Asashoryu and winning the whole year: I think, that we should not forget, that there war no dominance of Asa in the last two tournaments. The only point is, that at the moment, the ozekis do not show constance over an entire tournament. And I also think, that we could not expect the lower ranked sanyaku and Maegashira to do their job. At the moment, I do no see one single man to match Asa in more than one basho running. Maybe we have to wait untill Hakuho matures.
  18. Tochiazuma did it ! (In love...) And in man to man combat ! (Blinking...) It looks like his shoulder will do the work again. Most of us did not expect him to come back, but now, the ozeki come back is almost sure with three "lower" ranked opponents. I will celebrate the win with some friends and much sparkling wine. (thats a lie for the friend part. In Germany you dont have friends, who are interested in Sumo.)
  19. Interesting fight, as we all agree. Once more, the Yokuzuna surprised all with his strength, technique and fighting spirit. At first, I thought a win by Asashoryu was obvious (i reasoned similar to wanchanyama). At a second thought, there is another point to consider. When Asashoryu or others use this trick in the future, their opponent will throw their body onto the defender to
  20. Though I like to listen to your discussion about the winner of the next tournament, I think, that most of you hope that someone else will win, but also know, that this is unlikely. (At least for a special pick). Nonetheless there are a few interesting questions arising, like Will Musoyama stay Ozeki, what is the performance of Tochiazuma and what are the chances of the rising stars from the last tournaments.
