Yeah, what the heck, me too: Day 14: Harumafuji Day 15: Kotooshu
-
We know how much the Japanese revere Tradition, or course there is some possibility that the Torikumi makers aren't traditional Japanese, but traditionally the 5th Ozeki gets 3 Ozekis and a Yokozuna before getting a break and then the final Ozeki on Day 15. So, while Ozone is tempting, I'm going for Day 13: Kotooshu
-
After our boy beats the Yokozuna tonight Bart won't have to worry about a 14-1 kettei-sen, but tonight I see Day 12: Harumafuji
-
We know the Torikumi makers play fast and loose with our boy but the Yokozunas last 5-7 days (depending on the number of Ozekis) are pretty well scripted in stone so yes today is the one for Ozeki 3W Day 11: Hakuho
-
It doesn't really matter, he sucks against all the other Ozekis but I'm thinking O3W vs. O2W would be more the ticket: Day 10: Harumafuji

Day 9: Harumafuji

Day 8: Okinoumi

Day 7: Takayasu

Yes, of all the games/apps on SumoGames server only Doitsu's Sumo Reference seems to have come through unscathed. It seems to be reporting accurate results and an accurate Torikumi for Day 6. Why or how the other "grabbers" seem to have gone awry is a mystery, I was under the impression that all the apps on the server got them from the same source but apparently not so.

I've got a sneaking suspicion it might be Takekaze but my gut feeling is Day 6: Wakakoyu

Day 5: Takekaze

Day 4: Takekaze

1) what are your favourite daily games (top 3) ? Bench Sumo, Sumo Game, Sekitori-Toto 2) what are your favourite pre-basho games (top 3) ? GTB, RotoSumo, Juryo Game 3) what are your favourite forum games (top 3) ? Guess Kisenosato's Aite, 21, TRIO, SumoTipSpiel (Sorry it's a tie between those last two for 3rd place.) 4) are there games that you sadly miss ? G.I.S.P., Guess the Kotomitsuki (I realize he's gone, but we could've picked another rikishi to take his place.) 5) how many games are you currently playing ? 6 daily + 5 pre-basho + 4 forum games (1 pre-basho, 3 daily) 6) which ones did you stop playing + possibly why ? None 7) what amount do you consider manageable/fun to keep playing forever ? 6 daily + 5 pre-basho + 4 forum games (Pre-basho games could be added to easily, dailies I could possibly manage 2-3 more depending on how involved they were.) 8) what kind of game could actually still be missing from the offer ? I'm not terribly imaginative like that. I can wrap myself around new concepts and play the games but to devise one is beyond me.

Starting off with a smashing 1-1 (what the hey, it's better than 0-2), so for Day 3: Miyabiyama

1. A 2. A 3. A 4. B 5. B 6. A 7. B 8. A 9. A 10. B 11. A 12. A 13. A 14. A 15. A 16. A 17. B 18. A 19. B 20. A 21. B

Not going to miss the deadline this time around. Day 1: Goeido Day 2: Okinoumi
-
Not to quibble Jonosuke-san but in your list of "Rikishi with most Yusho" you should add: 10. Kitanofuji - 10 prior to Akebono's name. He was the 3rd Yokozauna to win Yusho in double digits after Futabayama and Taiho.
-
Well it will make for an odd basho (and of course it IS an ODD basho in any case) to totally skip the M4 ranks as opponents although, so far, Kakuryu hasn't faced either of the M4s and Kotoshogiku has only faced Tokitenku, so maybe not so odd. My first, gut, feeling was to go with Tochinoshin but looking at Kisenosato's records against Tochinoshin and Goeido it is clear he "owns" Goeido having only lost to him once. His record against Noshine is good but not even close to that against Goeido. Since the Kyokai are setting up both Giku and Kise to be their next Japanese Ozekis it must be the "guaranteed" win: Day 15: Goeido
-
I believe that if Gaga should beat Giku, a definite possibility IMHO, they would put him up against Harumafuji, another Ozeki, in order to give his run even more legitimacy. Unless, of courrse, Kise should step up to the plate and beat the Yokozuna who, while perfect in wins, has shown some slippage in his execution in some bouts and might be vulnerable to a truly determined Kisenosato. I'm betting on Kise losign to Hak so I say Day 1213: Tochiozan
-
Okay Giku has got 30 wins, all he needs is 3 more out of the next 5, then they can have another Japanese Ozeki and we'll be back to a "normal" Sanyaku for Fukuoka! Let's all cheer for Kotoshogiku the rest of the basho (if you haven't already been doing so, that is).

Day 12: It's just gotta be Hakuho!
-
Day 11: Hakuho
-
Well thanks to the Koto-mates the fecal matter has hit the virtual ventilator system. FIrst Osh goes Kyujo then Giku loses to the struggling Mongolian sekiwake. Day 10 would traditionally be the day for the Yokozuna (when only 1 is around) to meet the West Sekiwake but since we, currently at least only have 2 Ozekis then maybe the Sekiwake vs Yokozuna matchups will move back to Days 12-13 instead or maybe they'll just toss all the names in a hat and draw! I don't see any drama in holding Kise v Harry back for Day 15 like last tournament so I'll go with: Day 10: Harumafuji
-
With 4 Ozekis fighting the Yokozuna on day 12-15 then days 10-11 are traditionally for the Yokozuna to fight the sekiwakes or in this case 9-11 since there are 3 sekiwakes. Thus it has been traditional for the sekiwakes to meet on day 9. Last basho with 4 Ozeki (at least starting out) they followed this pattern but since there were 3 sekiwakes it takes 3 days for the sekiwake matchups so they started on day 7 in Nagoya and again this time even though we only had 3 Ozeki starting out. It appears they are following that same strategy since Kise and Kaku fought on day 7 and Giku and Kaku are fighting tonight so logically Giku and Kise should fight on day 9. It also makes sense in that if they held the Kise and Giku off for day 15 at least one of them would probably have a loss to the Yokozuna, maybe both. Also one or both of them might lose to Bart making it a bit anti-climactic. This way the odds are good that Kise will defeat Miflobbyama and reasonably acceptable that Giku will win against Kakuryu thus assuring a clash of undefeated sekiwakes for day 9. So my picks for Day 9: Kotoshogiku.
