TORCHBEARER 2017: invitation, rules, and your picks
Chisaiyama replied to shimodahito's topic in Sumo Games
I thought I had already submitted this but since I can't find it in either this thread or my email so, Shimodahito san if I have submitted a previous entry disregard it and take this one please. Rikishi: Ogasawara Rank Ju 6 E Thank you, -
I just noticed a small problem in the database that was obvious enough it didn't cause me any problems and I haven't noticed with any other torikumi matchups but there is a gremlin afoot and it may actually affect other queries so I thought I would pass it along. On the torikumi page of the SumoDB for Day 15, in the Endo vs. Tamawashi match it indicates their history to be 6-6. I clicked on the 6-6 to see what the distribution of the wins was like and got the display in the attached image, which also at the top shows a 6-6 history but the results displaye clearly show a 6-9 result with the first 6 meetings going to Endo and the last 3 going to Tamawashi. As noted earlier I haven't noted this type of discrepancy in any other matchup that I have actually examined this basho but if it can happen once it could actually affect the displayed results counts for others as well.

Thanks Simon, I'll check it out again tomorrow and see if I can get in then.

I know this isn't Doitsuyama's purview but I'm hoping that someone will be able to alert Mike at SumoTalk.com that the Fantasy Sumo login is having the same problem it had earlier this year, I believe either in Haru or Natsu can't remember which. When you try to login it takes your ID and PSWD and give you the CLick Here to continue screen but then it tells you that You must be logged in to edit your choices, click here to login. Then the whole process starts over again. I have tried this using two different browser, Chrome and Edge and got the same results, also on two different computers.

Not just Bench Sumo but all the other SumoGame.de games (Chain Gang, I.S.P. and Turn The Tide) as well. Panic mode setting in but then I enter that mode fairly easily.

I am unable to submit an entry at Juryo Game, it says "Sorry but the entry form for 2016 Nagoya basho has not been completed! Please check back later." Given that it's already Thursday, July 7 in Japan that doesn't leave much time for our globally dispersed players to submit entries. I know it doesn't have the standard SumoGames login interface so I don't know if Doitsuyama is the go to guy for this game or not. If not hopefully the game runner monitors this thread and/or is already working on the entry form.

By rule and as explained in the intro, for a match in which one of the participants is kyujo for the entire basho, all responses (A, B and X) are counted as correct for that match. This eliminates the need for entrants to do last minute changes for late announcements. Once the matches are set up on banzuke day, they are locked in. Thanks for the explanation, I read the intro twice and still managed to miss that. Getting old and having bad eyes is my only excuse! Again thanks.

A B A A B A A A A A A A A X B A A A A B A I think it should be noted that since Toyonoshima has had leg surgery just prior to this basho he will not be participating either, so will you be doing a double up for him as well in Match # 14? or will that match just be disregarded? As some others have done I have selected X for that particular match but in scrolling through the entries I have seem many participants have taken either A or B.

Not a "game" bug per se but there is a glitch in the sumogames.de system that is not sending out the automatic confirmation emails from the games it hosts. I've submitted my entries at Bench, ISP, Seki-Toto and TTT and confirmed the entries took by clicking the entry button again and observing that my picks are there but so far haven't received any emails from any of them. Normally I hear the emails arrive within 15-30 seconds after submission. Just a heads up that something seems to be amiss. I wouldn't want the email backlog to cause the server any problems.

I'm encountering a problem with Jury Game that I haven't noticed before, although it may have been ongoing and I just did not notice it. The total showing on the results summary page, at least for me, don't know about everyone else does not include the current day's result. However I did not notice this on the previous three days, the total was correct after Day 3 so perhaps it is a glitch that only involves Day 4? In any case my 4 day total should be 29: 9, 8, 8, 4 but is only showing up on the summary and on the top of the individual page as 25 even though the spreadsheet portion of the individual stats page is showing the correct total of 29. See the attachments below. I only happened to notice this because I keep a detailed hoshitori style spreadsheet of the makuuchi division of Ozumo and of my progress in my virtual games and when I entered my daily score into the JG line the total showed 29 but I remembered when I checked it online it was only 25. If this is isolated to x number of individuals on only one day it might or might not have any significant effect on the outcome of any given divisional yusho but if it is across the board and if it occurs on more than one day it might significantly affect the those outcomes. Note: I went back and checked several other people at random from different divisions and it appears to be doing this to everybody. Chisaiyama

If all that weren't enough this fellow is on the West side of the Dohyo, when was the last time Hakuho entered the Dohyo from the West side? Hatsu basho of 2014, so if this picture is that old it could be Hakuho otherwise not likely.
