At my age this will undoubtedly be a once in a lifetime experience. I am usually out the door by Day 2 or 3. I believe my previous best was 8 days. I shall gambarize and do my best to repeat as champion in March although the Dohyo in Osaka is always a very slippery one.

A study of Kaio's lifetime record in the SUMODB shows a history once he reached the Sekitori ranks of frequently having to go kyujo, often in back to back bashos. Once he achieved the rank of Ozeki (thanks to his 1st Yusho and the Jun-Yusho that followed) he knew he was set for the rest of his career. In those days kosho was still in effect so in theory he could go kyujo in one basho then set out the next two before returning as a kadoban Ozeki in the next, in which he only had to win 8 to keep his rank. IMHO Kaio was intelligent and realistic enough to realize that while he had the skills and abilities to become a Yokozuna he didn't have the stamina to remain one for very long. I am certain in my mind that after that 5th Yusho when they told him he's only needed a 13-2 Yusho for the promotion (and in Fukuoka no less) that he considered long and hard what to do and then turned in a 12-3 Jun-Yusho performance and it was the last great basho of his career. What followed was anticlimactic and downright embarrassing as he went on to prove just how long, thanks to the kadoban system, a career could be stretched. Kisenosato is certainly not in that situation, not being a doctor I cannot say with certainty but he appears healthy as the proverbial horse. He'd does appear to be lacking in self confidence and perhaps the promotion to Yokozuna would be the cure for that. Best case scenario is he would become the great Yokozuna those of us who have believed in him all these years always felt he could be; worst case he would fail, be forced to retire and we would have lost a truly great Ozeki. Either way only the Hatsu basho and the NSK will tell.

Don't be dissin the Demon Kogure, he's a quite knowledgeable and articulate sumo fan.

Thank for running this game, it is one of my favorite. I am curious concerning the methodology of determining the W-L records. D doo you have a scale with fixed values for each W-L pt. based on 0-maximum points possible or do you perhaps create a spread based on the actual point spread each basho?

They're still linked to the unaltered addresses, changing the visible text isn't enough. The pitfalls of the WYSIWYG editor, I guess...maybe a moderator can fix it. Sorry was just trying to pass on some helpful information not create such a fuss, I've deleted the post, that should take care of it.

Just tried to submit my Bench Sumo Day 1 entry and got a message saying that the Day 15 Entries Are Closed. With the Day 1 Sekitori matches just a little over a day away we need to get that fixed please. Same problem for Chain Gain only it say that the Day 1 Torikumi has not yet been released. Sekitori Toto, the entry page doesn't display. The browser activity indicator spins around with the notice Waiting for Anasuya.com then after a bit you get the big THE WEB PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND error display. Turn The TIde same as Chain Gang you get the error message that the Day 1 Torikumi hasn't been released.

Not sure about a current Banzuke per se but I do believe the rank shown with the players names in the standings page represents their current position on the banzuke. FWIW I base this on myself as it lists me as M14W and I was at J1W last basho.

Well, it's apparently taking it's afternoon nap, along with the rest of the games on the sumogames server. Perhaps some No-Doze pills until after the basho ends?

So Juryo Game is displaying final results on the Banzuke page as per usual at the end of the basho however, days 12 & 13 are still missing from the total, so have those days been completely lost or will they be compiled manually and adjustments made to the final totals and the w/l results updated then?

Still no new results in Juryo Game since Day 11 and an interesting side point about Seki Toto the results are showing but the total column is short a day. For instance as of Day 13 it is showing that I am 3-9 (total of 12) when my results are actually 3-10, the same was true for everyone else that I looked at, spot checked about 10 of them and all were short a days results.

Juryo Game is not showing any results for Day 12 it is only showing through Day 11 both in the aggregate totals on the Main results page and on the details page if you click a rikishi's name.

Thanks to all and "Doh" to me (though I did say it was a dumb question).

Dumb question, but has anyone checked with Doitsuyama to see if he is aware that it's down? Is it on a separate server, domain or whatever from the games because I am having no problem, fortunately, accessing them?
