Kintamayama 47,222 Posted March 26, 2006 (edited) Hi! A Sumo maniac's work is never done .. This is an invitation to all gamers and non-gamers to play the famous between Basho's "Guess the Banzuke" (GTB) game. The nifty entry form is online as you read. As the last Bashos the game has ran smoother than ever without me, it will be run again by Andoreasu, the person who does all the hard work accumulating stats, doing the rankings and maintaining the game's database, who has graciously agreed to take over yet again. Rules in 11 languages!! English, German, French, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, Swedish, Hungarian , Polish, Japanese and Hebrew!. I'd like to thank Zenjimoto, Hoshifransu, Hoshifransu, Kaikitsune, Leonishiki, Heiyu, Bandey, Kojamuri and Amanogawa (in order of above languages..) for their translations, time and goodwill. I would also like them to check to see if everything is still correct, as I have to change dates and stuff in languages I don't speak.. Tiebreaker-Most total guesses, then, the earlier entry. For rules, standings and stuff, go to: http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htm For the nifty entry form; http://www.dichne.com/reg2.html DEADLINE- Sunday, April 23rd 2006 at 13:00 EST USA, or, in Europe, 18:00 GMT. Kashunowaka 300 Posted March 26, 2006 And for those of you who use a spreadsheet, a tab-delimited version of the banzuke with results can always be found here: http://hakkeyoi.net/result-200603.txt For instance, you can get the results straight into Excel. Open the program, File -> Open, paste the URL and confirm the dialogue box.

Kintamayama 47,222 Posted April 23, 2006 First, again, special thanks to Andoreasu for running the show impeccably and getting the results out in a blink of an eye!!! The winner this time was Odoriou, a first time winner. Thanks for playing. We had 132 players this time,a record of course, with many newcomers, 17 (one of them in second place). And now... on with the Bash-ow!! See how you did at http://www.dichne.com/Guess.htm
Fujisan 535 Posted April 24, 2006 Kishinoshima -Can I use the entire Banzuke for the GTB game? I'm just kidding! Odoriou -Why not? I finished that version of a Natsu basho banzuke just a few minutes after the last bouts of Haru basho. It was based on the simple formula "[8-7 = 1 rank up], [9-6 = 3 ranks up], [10-5 = 5 ranks up] etc". Feel free to enter this in GTB - I'd really be interested in your result then. My guess is that it would give you a record of 6-9 or worse. But if I score less points with my final version than you do with my first attempt, I'd know that I spent far too much time with hakkeyoi researches... I think this conversation from the "May banzuke prediction" thread speaks for itself. (Showing respect...) Congratulations Odoriou (I was stupid...)

Odoriou 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I think this conversation from the "May banzuke prediction" thread speaks for itself. (Nodding yes...) I guess the final version was much better! Odoriou (Showing respect...) (Yusho winner...) (Whistling...) congratulations! Thanks. My final version wasn't much better - the quick banzuke I posted here was already good enough for a record of 12-3 (58 points). (On the banzuke...)
