Zentoryu 154 Posted April 22, 2003 Hard fall for Kotomitsuki... About what could be expected for his rank and record though. M13 Yotsukasa (J1, 9-6) Asasekiryu (M10, 6-9) Congratulations to Yotsukasa for making it all the way back from Makushita! Now he can enjoy making a Maegashira's Salary for a couple of months at least. (Laughing...)
Fujisan 533 Posted April 23, 2003 Best news is Akinoshimas still in there even if he is bottom of the pile,I would have missed his battered face.=====Nasty drop for injured Takanowaka, bet that hurt more than the tumble from the clay.
QttP 0 Posted April 23, 2003 Nasty drop for injured Takanowaka, bet that hurt more than the tumble from the clay. Yep. Just when he started to show stable Sanyaku-class results, he gets this... I hope he can find the mental strength to recover and climb back up again. From M6, he should be able to get like 10 wins in Natsu, if he's back in physical shape. Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted April 23, 2003 M8 Tamarikido (M11, 8-7) Gojoro (M14, 9-6) I think this shows the relative current weakness, due to injuries and retirement, of the lower makuuchi division. Neither of the above really deserves to be higher than M10 I think, but promotion rules are still promotion rules... From M6, he should be able to get like 10 wins in Natsu, if he's back in physical shape. I agree, but that's a big "if". We'll see >:-(
