Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted December 11, 2005 You know there are many countries in the world, many cities in almost every country except silly Hong Kong, Singapore and the silliest of all, Vatican. One country is Laos and there we have many cities of which we will now think of Louangphrabang (population less that 70 000). No idea how many fire stations they have there but probably one main fire station. In that station someone is the shortest man in duty. He really exists and breaths Laos air as I write this and he is totally unaware of the fact that someone is writing about a man whose description fits him perfectly. Maybe he is on duty or is resting home or drinking in bar at the moment since it is evening in Louangphrabang. So we have that man who works in the main fire station of Laos city called Louangphrabang and is the shortest fireman of the station (in case there are female firemen there, those are of course excluded as we are talking about a male individual here). This man has organs. One of his organs is his heart and in the heart he has coronary arteries. The left circumflex artery is our point of interest. In that man's left circumflex artery there is some plaque for sure and that plaque is located in the media layer of the vessel wall. That plaque has foam cells and there has to be one foam cells that is the freshest. That freshest foam cell in the coronary artery wall of this shortest fireman in Louangphrabang's main fire station in Laos is the target of this post. The man is unaware of this amazing coincidence and will live his life without ever having a clue that he was described on sumoforum.net in December 2005. I find this very fascinating and will honour the moment by eating a piece of cake. Naturally Laos is poor country and may not have firestations in every city but this is big city so a real fire station exists for sure. Only the employees with job contract are counted so no ambiguousity should occur. Isn't life funny?
Zuikakuyama 1 Posted December 11, 2005 Then I must be the silliest person in sumoforum, having lived in the two small silly countries of Hong Kong and Sillypore (yes, they do call their country by that name). Oh, and HK is not a country (a crown colony, a special administrative region), never was and never will be. Ever been to Vientiane, the capital of Laos? Believe it or not, it has no bridge crossing the Mekong river to the Thailand side of the river.
Odoriou 0 Posted December 11, 2005 In that station someone is the shortest man in duty. ... Only the employees with job contract are counted so no ambiguousity should occur. Well... Louangphrabang's central fire station has two very short firemen, both are exactly 159 cm tall. Just to make it more clear - which man do you mean? Khamphong Mounphosay is 38 years old, has 6 children and lives together with his family in this road (under the 2nd red roof): The name of short guy number two is Somphong Bouphavanh. He is 17 years old, not married yet and lives with his parents, 3 sisters and 2 grandparents in the house on the very right: Unfortunately both Mr. Mounphosay and Mr. Bouphavanh are very shy, so there are no photos of these gentlemen available. The man is unaware of this amazing coincidence and will live his life without ever having a clue that he was described on sumoforum.net in December 2005. Oh, don't be too sure about that. Khamphong Mounphosay's house has an internet connection. Globalization is everywhere. (Whistling...)
Asojima 2,874 Posted December 12, 2005 Unfortunately both Mr. Mounphosay and Mr. Bouphavanh are very shy, so there are no photos of these gentlemen available. Au Contraire. The above picture was taken when Mr. Mounphosay was promoted to Lieutenant in October and was then transferred to the fire station for the Northern Sector of Louangphrabang. I wonder how good salary he gets as a fireman. No visits from Laos according to statistics on sumoforum but Laos can be one of the "unknowns". Besides 159cm is not "very short" in Laos standards. Only "short". His wife is 151cm and wakes up very early due to early bird principle and sumodou.
Asojima 2,874 Posted December 13, 2005 Mr. Mounphosay was promoted to Lieutenant in October and was then transferred to the fire station for the Northern Sector of Louangphrabang. Mr. Mounphosay was subject to a physical exam in conjunction with his recent promotion. His cholesterol level was found to be at an acceptable level of 167. His LDL/HDL ratio was a little high on the LDL side, but the discrepancy was not large enough to be of any signjificant concern. His earlier reported transfer to the northern sector of Louangphrabang is apparently on hold due to a grievance filed by the firefighter's union on behalf of the members in the northern sector. Due to privacy restrictions, the nature of the grievance has not been released. It is apparently based on a question of "personal values".
