kedevash 44 Posted December 9, 2017 Hello , First of all, thanks a lot for the persons who give us all those news and reports about amateur sumo !! Now that the 2017 season is finish i would like to know what are the main competition of the calendar for college sumo. For what i already know on the forum here is my list. - All Japan College Uwajima ( Shiroishi Masahito - Toyo ) ( Toyo ) - All Japan College USA ( Terasawa Itsuki - Toyo ) ( Nihon ) - All Japan College Kawazawa ( Terasawa Itsuji - Toyo ) ( Toyo ) - All Japan College Towara ( Watanabe Ryo - Kindai ) ( Toyo ) - East Japan College championship ( Kizaki Shinnosuke - Nihon ) ( Toyo ) - West Japan College Championship ( Watanabe Ryo - Kindai ) ( Kyushu Joho ) - All Japan College and Corporate ( Kizaki Shinnosuke - Nihon ) ( Aisin Sekin ) - Kokutai ( Shiroyama Seira - Toyo ) ( Niigata ) - All Japan College Championship ( Nakashima ? - Nihon ) ( Toyo ) - All Japan Championship ( Saigo Tomohiro - Tottori Gov ) The ones in bold are the ones who can give Sandanme and Makushita tsukedashi status. I just add the winner of the individual and team competition Does i miss some main competition? From what i see, Kizaki Shinnosuke from Nihon and the team of Toyo are the winner of this year. Which rikishi have already commit to join ozumo next year?
Akinomaki 41,733 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) Looks like you got the main college competitions, but that are not all main amateur ones. For giving ms and sd tsukedashi status there are also the All Nippon corporate championships - for that we rarely have a thread here because we for one don't have much information and usually not all best 8 results and then the top 8 mostly contain those too old or without intention to quit the career to go into ozumo, but Ichinojo and Daiamami got the ms TD entry from there. The top 4 are here: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cv4a-kwhr/amasumo/game/09-jitsugyodan_all.html What we also don't have yet is a thread to list all present ms and sd TD qualifiers. I think that would be quite useful - we list the qualifiers at the tournament results of course, usually with likelihood of entering ozumo. The interhigh (koukou soutai) is a pretty big amateur competition, too - as are the kokutai juniors as the 2nd big high school tournament, with many top finishers going to ozumo (but with maezumo start) - this time so far Naya (kokutai juniors winner) and Byambasuren (interhigh 2nd) The Japanese list with the schedule of all mayor amateur tournaments (also for kids and women) is at http://www.nihonsumo-renmei.jp/yotei/index.html Before you know it, Usa turns into USA 2 hours ago, kedevash said: - All Japan College USA ( Terasawa Itsuki - Toyo ) ( Nihon ) Edited December 9, 2017 by Akinomaki
