Araiwa 0 Posted April 20, 2004 Hello Folks, I found an image of an old postcard. It shows a yokozuna which I cannot identify but it seems it's a very old one. I know here are some specialists of past yokozuna so maybe you could help me? www.vintagepostcards.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=VPC&Product_Code=SPORGY-I6049 I for myself would tend to Musashiyama, but I'm not sure at all. Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted April 20, 2004 (edited) I'm quite sure it's Musashiyama. I have a few pictures at home which as far as I can recall are very much alike this one. Besides, there are really no other candidates... Edited April 20, 2004 by Yubiquitoyama

Mark Buckton 1 Posted April 20, 2004 I'm quite sure it's Musashiyama. I have a few pictures at home which as far as I can recall are very much alike this one. Besides, there are really no other candidates... Yep - definitely. Same slight shadow in the chest area, same face. Interesting for me how many of the old yokozuna had the sword carrier on their left but today it tends to be on their right. Have a book of old 'bromide' pics and this was often the case. Any reasons anybody knows of?
