KaioU wary of Asashouryuu?

The one man who most people think is THE man to stop Asashouryuu, KaioU, seems to have hoisted a white flag concerning Asashouryuu.

Yesterday he went degeiko-ing to Azumazeki where he had some bouts with Takamisakari and others- 22 bouts, 17-5. But his chronic lumbago has been acting up again. Tomozuna Oyakata:" He's going to have a hard time against the present Yokozuna", seemingly raising his hands in surrender.

Although KaioU does have a 7-6 edge over Asashouryuu in their head to heads, Oyakata added, "I told him to reduce 10 kilos from his weight right after Hatsu. If he doesn't, there is no way he can keep up with the Yokozuna's speed." KaioU himself started skipping meals and doing all he could, but managed to lose only 3 kilos and is now 174. The target: 160 kilos. "If I lose weight, I'll lose muscle as well, so it's not that simple. The Yokozuna is powerful AND quick..", he said, timidly.

This is not the right attitude if you want to try and stop Asashouryuu, adds the reporter.

Just yesterday, we heard KaioU was doing just fine. What a difference a day makes..
