Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 22, 2003 Tanaka and Kokkai won in Juryo. Kokkai is set for Juryo next basho, but Tanaka still has to hope with 5-2 at Ms5w, but his win against Kitazakura improved his odds greatly. Tokitenku had a fine Makushita debut despite losing his first bout in his short career. He finished 5-2 with a less than spectacular win today. Sentoryu finished 4-3 with a very weak loss. Tamanokuni proved with a yorikiri that Tochifudo isn't immovable and got his kachi-koshi. Maybe he can join his brother Tamanoshima in the paid ranks after next basho. Hakurozan won in Sandanme, finished 5-2 and will join his brother Roho in Makushita next basho. -- Doitsuyama Jonokuchi Jk23e Koseki (2-5) yorikiri Jk34w Hizume (1-6) Jk32e Asafunatsu (4-3) Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 22, 2003 EDIT: Geez, the format for that came out screwy. Question for the Rijicho (or anyone who knows how): How do I get these things to lineup correctly? You could insert the HTML tags < pre > and < / pre > around the text in question (of course without spaces). I do this all the time...

Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 24, 2003 Jd27e Ryudo (4-3) hansoku Jd23e Shoryu (3-4) What happened here??? (Oh my god...) (Nervous...)
Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted March 24, 2003 Quote Jd27e Ryudo (4-3) hansoku Jd23e Shoryu (3-4) What happened here??? Clearly the most common hansoku results from accidental hair pulling during slap/pulldowns so most likely such case. The other illegal moves are such that one has to actively prepare for those or be very very angry or stupid. Well..maybe neko-damashi which is clapping hands together in front of opponent's face at the tachi-ai in order to cause lapse of concentration and safety reactions could sometimes go really wrong when the opponent is fast enough to stick his head so much forward that neko-damashi would hit him simultaneously on both ears which is one illegal move. Theoretical example :-D
Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 25, 2003 There is another illegal move which has resulted in a hansoku in the past... losing the mawashi. :-
