Picture: Asashouryuu not training much- visiting schools and old peoples' homes. No keiko yesterday. Instead, light training, then local volleyball game - participated. "He's busy with a lot of events, you know.." said Oyakata. Only 4 new recruits in entrance exams, two Mongolians. Kagamiou,( not Kagamiyama as was wrongfully reported yesterday)15, Kagamiyama beya, wrestling experience. "His Sumo is like Kyokushuuzan's", said former Juryou/now Oyakata Hakuryuu. When he's had training, he's done really well. I've seen a few reports that have him listed as unbeaten in training bouts (12-0, 15-0, etc.). So he seems to be doing OK in that respect. I wouldn't worry too much about him yet. I think part of what's happening here is a PR tour for Asashoryu. You know, to try and rebuild his reputation a bit after last basho's mess with Shuzan. He and his Oyakata seem to be actively trying to show him in the best possible light to prove, "Hey I'm not such a bad guy afterall." (In a state of confusion...)
