yaay i have finally become a sumovolleyball sekiwake (red) with a record of 175-110! so happy....anyone besides hoshifransu and kyukenzen play this game?
-
Ok, so who's up for a sumo volleyball tourney at shizmoo.com ?go here to register your shikona if you are i dunno if it would be easier to try to get everyone online at once for a one-time tourney or to try to schedule individual games ahead of time instead. oh well, answer here if you are interested. has anybody played this a lot? it's so fun, i'm addicted! i'm a komusubi (orange) now after a week hehe, so fun!

i'm pretty with how my hatsu basho has gone im 9-5 in sumo game going into the final day, after being at 3-4 i think it was, so ive got kachi-koshi both times in that, and im 6-8 in bench entering the final day after being 2-7 after day nine. it hurt though, i came all the way back to 6-7, and then lost. i was starting to have visions of KK, then they vanished. in oddsumo, hmmm, i am at 26 points i think, which i don't really know what that means much yet, but i seem to be near the upper middle part of the standings, but ive made a few slightly reckless picks for the last day so that might change, but im not listed on the banzuke yet so it doesnt really matter i suppose. any recommendations for which games i should try next? i was thinking roto-sumo for sure and maybe sekitori oracle/toto

ya, i dont know why it put the 28+ thing near the top, i put them in in regular order, and it automatically changed it to that. i still think 11 separate games to make picks for everyday is insane. i have 3, and it takes tiiiiime

i just started playing in kyuushuu 2002, so im only in 3 right now, but im planning to join at least 2 more in march and was wondering how many different games everyone participates in. I've seen some of zenjimoto's comments and know he's in a lot, how do you have time to do all them?

I know what i'm asking for for my birthday! :-D what's the easy mawashi?
-
i know you do not have to finish the basho to win yusho i remember reading aobut someone who got injured the second-to-last day and couldn't fight the final day, but still won with 14 wins, but i can't remember who or when it was...stupid brain, cuz im studying for exams now, all the IMPORTANT information like sumo is leaving my brain
-
now that we are halfway through, i think he will get promotion, especially if it turns out that moose is going to be out for march as well
-
why did takanohana have to switch to the east side when he faced dejima who is west rikishi? i figured the lower-ranked guy would switch
-
yeah, a forum tourney sounds cool, and i've got last place all wrapped up (Jumping of joy...)

i notice that takanohana's record is listed as 2-1-1. Does this have any effect on his ability to make kachi-koshi/a yusho tiebreaker? i.e.-does he still have to win 8 for KK? -i both him and asasho end with 12 wins, do they still have to fight in a tiebreaker, or does taka win for getting his wins in less matches?
-
ya, i agree with that, asashoryu is definitely very exciting and would make an excellent yokozuna, especially because his style is such a contrast to musashimaru's. but i don't like the fact that there will be just the two foreign yokozunas, with, as you say, no japanese yokozuna candidates in sight for the near future

THIS IS WONDERFUL!!!!! this is amazing, i didn't even know u were allowed to do this, apparently it's the first time in 50 years or something... well, he's got a very outside shot at the yusho i guess, but he'll "start" 2-2, so he'll only have to win 6 of 11 for kachi-koshi, it's all good, and i guess he won't be retiring!
-
looks like asasho should have the yusho now. he's looked strong the first three days and he's the only high ranked wrestler who's undefeated. and if taka retires, looks like it'll be 2 gaijin yokozuna for a while. don't know how good that is for the sport
-
I think so. the kyokai is fed up, and won't be too happy about another kyujo, i think he's done.

TAKA is OUT! NOooooooooooooooooooooooooo :'( i can't believe this....... -
YIKES!!! another controversial match and another hard fall for the beloved yokozuna. again, i'll have to see the replay before i pass judgement, but still, he's 2-0 :D
-
looks good to me. ive signed up for the oddsumo game, but it looks like you guys already have 5, so ill have to play by myself for a while i guess. unless you boot that guy who doesn't show
-
yes, after my viewing of the dohyo.com replay, takanohana definitely did win. it was hella close tho. yeah, i think a mono-ii was probably in order, but then if taka lost on the rematch all us supporters would be complaining that he was robbed of a valid win, so i guess it's 6 to one...and i gotta put in a bit of an argument with zentoryu about him not looking injured. seemed to me that he picked himself up off the ground kinda slowly, but that might just have been cuz he thought he had lost and he wanted to crawl into a hole or something...anyway, he's 1-0 and that's all that matters
-
that was a close call for takanohana, i only saw it on the webcast, so no replay :(, so i can't wait until it's uploaded onto the net so i can see how close it actually was a hard spill too, but he seemed to bouce back up okay

any canadian participants of online sumo games who would like to begin a new beya with me to rival the many online beyas which are being created, mainly in europe. . . let me know, fukunoyama@benchsumo.zzn.com

ooh, takanohana v. wakanosato,,,im worried... (Unhappy...) on the one hand, it's a very big challenge for taka on his first day, on the other hand, if he is able to beat wakanosato comfortably, it will convince me that he is ready to be back and take a shot at the yusho. one thing's for sure, im gonna be up at 3 in the morning to watch the webcast... (Zzz...)
