you could be right fujisan, but i thought i had read something on here or a mailing list alluding (i take too many foreign language courses right now, i can't remember how to spell english words) to the fact that the sumogames site might be down for the count
-
Hello. as we all know, the sumogames server is down, so i was wondering if anyone knows whether the games will be run, and how they can be accessed. of the top of my head, i think of isp, roto, chaingang and hoshitori. are the games running for kyuushuu, and if so, how can we enter? i will be so sad if i can't enter the games (Sigh...) ...but on the other hand, if noone can play, it means i won't drop further down the banzukes! :-/
-
I think that Kyuushuu is Taikai's chance. I think he will finally get over his habit of choking, and it will be the beginning of his yokozuna run. anyway, i hope so....
-
i'm sure i will die without ever gaining points in oddsumo. speaking of people cheating...those people who manage to get 60 points in a basho, they must be cheating, no? i just don't see how it's possible.... (In a state of confusion...)
-
isn't that exactly what the people you have been criticizing have been saying? you're the only one who has mentioned things like this, except furanohana in a clearly joking tone. you have the exact same solution as most of the people on the forum, so what exactly is your problem?
-
ditto. i think you are somehow misinterpreting what we are talking about. i don't think anybody on the forum here is actually getting hopping mad about this issue, but at the same time, we would rather not see it happen, and we feel that it lessens the enjoyment of the games to have people playing unfairly. i'm not sure about the bench sumo situation, but in the sumo game, the player was using multiple shikona in the same division, meaning he would get numerous freeby wins for each time he faced himself. again, this is not a serious thing, and i won't lose any sleep about it, but it does make the game less enjoyable.after all, the goal of playing these games is to win, so if someone cheating is taking away from your ability to win, then it's less fun, isn't it. if not for issues like this, what is the point of having a sumo game sub-forum. . . . . i suppose we should be discussing world politics here, because sumo games are obviously not important, and they bore some people. . . anyway, ryunokaze seems to have disappeared...oh well......
-
i'd hafta agree with that, but you never know....... i can't really understand using the same lineup for four shikona either, except if it's some kind of experiment to test actual skill in a game vs. pure luck. i.e.--> depending on the opponents, how many wins will be garnered with the same lineups over fifteen days. it would be an interesting experiment for maybe one basho, but not for as long as this guy has been doing it, i would think he would be bored of it by now, especially with all the shikona bein very close in rank. oh well...i hope he gets at least the extra shikona booted, because then i should be up in juryo for sure in sumo game as well as bs... :-/ yaaaay

On the sumo game registration page, it says as the first rule that "Only one registration per person is allowed." it doesn't set out any punishment, but it sure makes the rule clear. p.s.-> furanohana, i like your propositions :-/

It seems that a few observant players have found that at least one person has been using multiple shikonas in this fine game. The Rijicho is now investigating the matter. I was wondering mainly, if there is any kind of mechanism in place to prevent this from happening in other games, and what the penalty should be for those who are caught. I think they should be suspended, no questions asked, and possibly let back in on the bottom of the banzuke after two years. to see the allegations, go to the Sumo Game forum page.

how many pounds/kilos in a stone? i'm assuming fujisan will jump on this one..... -
I am overjoyed about my upcoming Juryo debut, my first appearance in Juryo in any sumo game. Although I am sure that the competition will be much more fierce up here, I look forward to fighting hard, and hope for continuing success and one more promotion soon.

August 12th is a wonderful day. I was born exactly 10 years after the great Takanohana, who incidentally was the one who got me interested in sumo. August 12th is also the birthdate of yoozuna-killer akinoshima. and there is at least one current sekitori with the same birthdate, although i can's remember who that is at the moment. il add it later

i agree with what you say about people shouldn't take it too personally, or let it affect our lives, and i doubt that anyone seriously does that. But using your above logic, this entire forum has no reason to exist. since none of us have personally experienced sumo, we should not have an opinion about it? should we also not have an opinion about the referee in a world cup final, or world leaders committing genocide, since we have never been in their shoes? we are fans, and we have every reason to have an emotional opinion about a sport we love

the thing that bothers me most about this henka is that it was not necessary. if asashoryu lost, he would have still been tied for the lead. it was not a lose and die situation for the yokozuna, and therefore, in my opinion, should not have been so willing to henka. even though it is a legal move, and i am not as strongly against the henka move as are many other people, i believe that there is a time for it. in this case, the time was not good. it served to ruin the chance for fans to see a meaningful final day. it would seem to me that the yokozuna, already disliked in japan, would not want to do henka at a time like this, further destroying his popularity. i'm sure the YDC didn't like it, even if they don't say anything publicly.

well....i still have labout 4 hours to decide, but i think im going with taka. partly because i love him, and partly because manekineko has gone with waka, so if i am right, i will be in a tie for first with him in isp. on the other hand, if im wrong....oh well- all or nothing! ;-) <---- i found the smiley. i think i couldn't find it before because it starts off as a smiley face. GO TAKA!
-
much resect to whoever chose this bout for today's isp (Rock on...) (where did the RESPEKT smiley go?) wakanosato and takamisakari i saw the bout choice early this morning, and it has been bothering my brain all day. on the one hand, wakanosato seems to have dominated sakari in the past, but on the other hand, takamisakari is well...takamisakari! most ppl so far seem to be jumping on waka, but i just can't help believeing in taka...im sure i will be fighting with myself about this bout until right before the deadline...

i think the move to expand to three consecutive mks is ridiculous. it will mean, possibly, that an ozeki could win just eight matches of forty-five, and remain an ozeki. over the course of a year, they could have just 2of6 KKs, and stay ozeki. I would like to see, at the very least, an addition to the rule, which would state that if they have two straight mks, they need to get at least two straight kks to stay.

I think: Because he has personality. He is exciting in his pre-bout routine, he loks like he is enjoying sumo, rather than being just some fat guy who was told in high school that he could make a fistful of money by wearing a mawashi and throwing people around the dohyo.
-
kyokai site says musoyama's gone. anyone know what happened? i just started university this week, and thus have not been able to see more than a couple of matches from dale's site...i miss sumo so much, but it doesn't seem to be hurting my game-playing too much, except seki-toto, so i guess i won't drop out just yet. ANYWAY!->does anyone know what happened?

Mr. Kintamayama- i just found out what kintama means....how did you come up with that name?

Kosho abolishment and new suggestion+stuff
Hashira replied to Kintamayama's topic in Ozumo Discussions
i agree with kaikitsune-zeki. two straight mk to drop already seems too much, with tochiazuma and musoyama sitting at the second-highest ranking in sumo, with neither really doing anything to deserve it recently. the three straight mks will only make that probem worse, but i like the idea of needing 11 wins to return. will they have to change the ozeki promotion rules also? i would think so, as the combination of kosho and ozeki rule changes will mean that ozeki are either dropping out fast, or staying forever. p.s.-what will this mean to our beloved sumo games? it would seem to make sumo game easier, and perhaps bench too, but will we have to increase the rosters for games like roto and bench? chaingang should be easier too, one would think, with simply more matches to choose from -
it is indeed that one, but i have horrible news (at least for myself): this game has been written in a code that apparently is not mastered by the mod chips, so the only way i can play it is if i get a japanese playstation...im working on that, but im heartbroken about not being able to play this game.ive tried it on emulators, ps2s, etc....it won;t work....
