Zentoryu 154 Posted March 6, 2003 Courtesy of Joe Kuroda of the SML: As Takasago Beya now appears to be the place where thetop contenders tend to congregate, both Kaio and Chiyotaikai have been out-training at their Osaka camp. Though Asashoryu seems still to be bothered by his shoulder injury, Chiyotaikai is impressing everyone with his progress since his injury. It's evident that Kaio is still not 100% as he is being easily pushed off the dohyo after a dozen or so training matches as he says himself that after a while he would no longer exert any pressure. Musashimaru is so far only exercising with dumbells although I believe he has not come out and clearly stated that he would not be in for Osaka, it looks definite. Interesting, as some of this seems to be running a bit contrary to what we've been hearing here from the papers and such. (I do not get it...) Now I'm having second thoughts about picking Kaio again... (But, but...)

Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted March 7, 2003 Akebono did keiko after a little break of 2 years. 10 training bouts against Takamisakari at Azumazeki-beya camp in Osaka. 33 year old mageless yokozuna looked good. Ushiomaru observed the bouts in his fashionable knee support. http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/hochi/sports/mar/o20030307_30.htm

Manekineko 200 Posted March 8, 2003 Not at all mageless as far as I can see :-D (Only for Swedish speakers...) Although my Swedish knowledge is severly limited (ie. nonexistant), I can guess from the context... mage=belly, right?
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 9, 2003 I thought he meant to type "ageless", because Ake really doesn't look any older than he did a couple of years ago :-D
