Fujisan 533 Posted April 18, 2003 Who said the cushions wherent aimed at the losing Yokozuna? Did you see Asashoryu get hit on the back of the head after his loss to kyokushuzan? Dont you think that was a bit much? Asa was clearly upset and rightly so.

Losing to Dejima though, that was a whole other issue (Enjoying a beer...)

(Enjoying a beer...) Haha. I agree. I would happily aim a cushion at Musashimaru after he loses against Gojoro or someone and later shamelessly grovel for the chance to get my picture taken with Maru. (Eating...) Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted April 18, 2003 Are we talking about this issue yet again? (Eating...) (Enjoying a beer...) I think as long as pillow-throwing is a legal and acknowledged part of being a sumo fan, you're always going to have people: - who never throw pillos - who throw pillows at the wrong time - who throw pillows at the wrong person - who always throw pillows or at least always want to throw pillows This will happen because there will always be crazy or alternatively people who want to have "fun" even at the cost of embarrassing themselves. The rikishi and kyokai know this and accept it, so all is well. Much like the NASCAR girls (although less fun IMHO), this is just a part of the sport. It may offend some people, but the majority of fans like it. WARNING: this link contains sexist (but not sexual!) content: NASCAR fans
